I think the 957 gts solenoid may alter the length of the inlet manifold by opening up some vanes as it actuates the pse.

Installed my new wheels and tires.
Rinnspeed reps (22x10), ET50 with 14mm spacers up front and 20mm rear. Tires are 285/35/22 Continental DWS06.
I have never been a big fan of black wheels but they are everywhere now so I thought I would give them a try and I do like how it looks. Definitely racier/more aggressive.

Had the faintest whine - thought it could be cardan shaft bearing needing repacked, transfer case, rear or front diff - checked rear diff oil just by using a syringe. None came out of the fill plug when I opened it. Oil has been changed pretty recently by the look of things, so I thought I’d just top it off with some nulon g70 diff treatment. Needed 100ml on top of the oil I’d sampled..so the rear diff was low. It’s now quiet as a mouse, that was the source of the noise,

Towed the pig to the mechanic for new battery, new fuel pumps, new plugs, new coils, new air filters and oil change. Hopefully it will run long enough to sell it!!

Replaced headlight gaskets, all 500 bulbs and the wiring pigtails.

The insulation was so bad on the passenger side that it was a causing a turn signal short. If you haven't replaced these, I highly recommend you put it on your to-do list.

Interesting that the wire on the new one appears to be different.. perhaps longer lasting..?

One of my auxiliary power outlets in the cargo area was missing the cap so I replaced it with an extra USB charging port I had lying around.

Found that a 5lb fire extinguisher fits perfectly where the the self leveling tank would go if so optioned.

Tidied up the engine bay and replaced some missing trim piece fasteners.

Tried to get vcds lite working with a really old I think Durametric cable clone - couldn’t so gave up on the idea. Emailed foxwell to ask them to allow coding of the byte/bit to enable auto dim light feature - got a response they’ll pass it on to engineering. Washed the car. 2 hours of happiness....

Met up with a fellow Rennlister and completed my turbo cluster swap- he also got auto headlights activated (THANK GOD), cleared the headlight error due to the cluster, turned off the TPMS, and turned on the coming home/comfort lighting.

A good day indeed!
