Crap. What year and model and how bad is the damage? Will you be able to save it?

2005 Turbo. It doesn't appear to be that bad but who knows. Just looking at retail on parts seems about 3-4K so we'll see what the Ins. adjuster says. I want this done right not at a reg shop. Looking at Karosserie and also call the local independent Porsche mechanic near me for his recommendation. Pictures are in another thread I started looking for a body shop in NE PA. https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...ons-ne-pa.html

Looks like Convenience Collision in Bangor PA is a good bet. www.conveniencecollision.com
I spoke with extensively and will most likely go with them as they are Porsche trained and very close to home. Plus explained my rights as a consumer.

FOUND my sunglasses button and epoxied that f'er onto the metal clip.
MacGuyvered the overhead light switch that randomly came loose by replacing the missing spring (due to the white pinch pin being broken in half- have no idea) with the spring from a ball point clicky pen. Those have have repaired that switch know what I am talking about.

New battery ( only have one plus Bose) and oil & filter.

Dried out out rear passenger footwell ( was very wet, but nothing in front)

Netx job trying to find a new sunroof seal as mine seems to have shrunk.

Default What a week

Tried to break it...

well, someone else tried to. Long story short - she has been ruled a total loss and awaiting details from insurance company. Bought it less than a week ago. Can't believe I am even thinking about this right now, but if insurance offer is decent enough as far as keeping car, may have to do something interesting with it. Still runs and drives like a champ luckily.

I did not get that far, but really don't want to mess around with it.

Bumper cover is trashed. Can't take the parts anyway. Lots of hidden damage (cracks in core support, etc.) occurred. Damn Deer!

This weekend was all about callipers. Thought I would treat the " trouble and strife" as I know she always wanted them a different colour. This was all done with a brush so it is not 100% perfect in my eyes but a hellva lot less masking compared to spraying.
First up time to clean and degrease the original ones. They were a bit shot so had to rub them down with scotchbrite which made short work of the letting.

Masked up then onto painting. This is epoxy paint with a separate hardener , two coats , one thin and second a lot thicker. Goes off pretty quick.

Once dry, put the heat resistant lettering on ( messed up the first which is handy as they give you three )

Found time to clean up the bolts

Then whacked the wheels on and job done. Dont worry about wheels, they are getting refurbished at some point
Some brownie points my way me thinks
