I reckon Doug's review definitely helped up that car's 'aura' in terms of desirability / pricing / value / perception. Also we have the spring effect (recall the GT Silver that just sold on BaT over the weekend sold for $136,555 on BaT, and sold on C&Bs this winter for $106,500 [winning bidder faded so owner kept the car till now]). The market has not moved upwards by 30% in 6 months, its the typical 'who do you have in the room' when it comes to these auction sites.
On that note, BaT and C&B are Retail Plus pricing. I look at Autotempest and ironically the best deals are with...dealers! Not sure you guys saw this week the 15K mile single-owner car that was listed for $115K in IN (Toom Wood Porsche), but that would have sold for well over $130K on either BaT or C&B (wouldn't be surprised if a flipper picked it up and we will see it listed soon).

To your point this very same cars & bids 997 did NOT sell on BAT in Dec and sat on dealer's lot with an asking price of $140K since.

The 1-owner GT Silver I mentioned listed at Tom Woods Porsche in IN? Yup, sold in about 24 hrs! They took it in on a trade from the original owner, listed it on Tue, sold on Wed. Listing appeared with no photos (just the CarFax and build sheet) and the dealer said they didn't even have time to upload pics before it was sold very next day.

The GT Silver one that sold on Bat over the weekend for $136,555 actually sold on C&B for $106.5 in Dec. Winning bidder flaked (ironically a dealer), and 2nd in line faded in his interest. C&B kept the $4.5K and banned him from the platform. What's noteworthy about that is since they set reserve, it had cleared it, so I am guessing it was ~$100K. Speculate (since I have no proof) that C&B set the reserve much higher for dealers (as they are more consistent listers than the occasional one-off private seller), as I doubt a dealer listing his cars for $140K will take the risk of a $100K reserve.
