I thought this was kinda interesting. The 997.1 Turbo UK press car that was used on Top Gear and Fifth Gear is up for auction.

I got a low offer of $55k and a high offer of $69k from a few online dealers (one of them is on here). Car is a 2012 TTS with 70k miles but in mint condition with all services upto date. I know the miles are a little high but are these cars tanking so much now?

You'll always get lowballed by dealers. Not just for this car, but for any car. Their main goal is to maximize profits by getting the asset on the low and turning right around and selling it for high. Guarantee if you let it go for 55 to a dealer, in a week you'd see it listed on their website for 75 after "reconditioning fees" which is an oil change and a spit shine. I really really loath dealerships and their practices. Some independent dealerships that specialize in selling these cars... I'm not gonna say who.. have it in their mind that they're the Blackrock private Equity of 997 Turbo's and controls the market and sets the prices. If you buy from them, expect to pay a premium.

Put it up on BaT and present it well. Letting retail buyers decide what's it's worth is the only fair play.

I would have to think that is an $80K car all day long retail. Especially with the service records... I'd throw a set of ceramic pads on the her and put a sign in front of the yard. Quite frankly though, Do you really need to sell it? That car might prove to be bullet proof and nothing for that kind of money comes close to a auto (PDK) sports car.

That's kind of what I am thinking....car is really well sorted out and I am enjoying it, was just feeling it out since one of the dealers was on here soliciting cars.

I agree sell it on BaT, sold my last car there and it went very well. My friend decided to sell his on there 2 months later because mine went so well, and his did very well also. Based on mileage i think you could get 80k easy on BaT if you present it well.
A big part of auction depends on presentation. Detail it or have it detailed, take good photos, be engaged, be open and honest. I see so many cars on BaT that leave 5k-10k on the table because they don't present well.

@NSXavier -Agree 100%. Like most on here, I've owned a *lot* of 911s over the years and it's getting harder to find joy in the experience. Between dealer premiums and $200+/ hr labor for padwan learner mechanics with bigly padded hours, it's not as enjoyable. On the positive side, it's even more compelling to take on most work as a hobbyist mechanic!

Hi. I’ll shoot you a PM now. Have an atlas 09 manual with 22k that’s about to go on BaT.

Yes, good luck with the auction! She’s beautiful. You know it is this weeks BAT guessing game in the 997 forum. Guesses are currently between $132k and $152k.

What are the thoughts on this 2007 Turbo Tip offered by an AD in So Cal? It's been listed for awhile now with the price recently reduced again to $78K. The interior is unique but a bit worn, plus understand there is a Tip calculation in pricing.
