this auction doesn't seem to be off to a great start either.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...urbo-coupe-51/

who lists a 997 turbo on BaT without a front spoiler? 😂

also i was slightly wrong, the previous car did not have minor damage on the carfax, this is the one that does.

there is talk in the comments claiming it would pass CA smog because it passed in early 2021. my understanding is CA changed laws in late 2021 so that non CARB approved ECU tunes would be a fail. i'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the 15 year old "SharkWerks Stage 2 ECU Tune" is probably not CARB certified.

Agree, listing caught my eye because of the Mods... it was sold here on RennList a few years back and looked familiar. seemed like the prior owner knew his stuff and took care of it (and took great photos). Couldn't believe the front spoiler.. they also raised ride height quite a bit... current owner seems questionable.

RNM at $67k which is crazy low but this is totally on the seller.

minor damage on the carfax, US car but currently in canada, seller not knowing to step up and say the clear coat had not been removed, not addressing comments about bodywork, and not able to provide a DME.

a scan tool that can give you a DME costs a couple of hundred dollars, there is simply no excuse not to provide one.
A shame that auction was done so poorly and the car had so many handicaps, I'm always much more interested in the higher mileage driver-grade Turbos to get a real feel for the state of the market.

called this one have a rough result. seller had to drop his reserve and settle for $77k.

someone looking for a modified car got a stellar deal.

I subscribed to the email list for Legendary Motorcar Company in Canada and get notices for cars they have for sale. Saw this 2008 cab in their inventory with 27K miles and an asking price of of $79,900.

Thoughts on this 997.1 turbo manual?

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...urbo-coupe-13/

Few ignitions in 5th range but plenty hours ago it seems.

granted it was a bit on the high side of miles at 83k, black is pretty common, the paint looks like it needs some work, and the auction photos left a lot to be desired, but $76k for a 2009 manual coupe seems like a bargain of a price, even in this market. the coolant lines were even pinned.

I don't know if any of you folks have picked up on this guy's relatively new YT channel called Porsche and Ferrari: https://www.youtube.com/@PorscheandFerrari. He gives a daily quick 2 or 3 minute review of all the Porsche & Ferrari sales on the BaT & Pcar Market. His delivery is super dry, almost monotone, but his commentary is great, sometimes hilarious. The reason I mention it is due to the 2009's interior color ....Beige. On this guy's videos he always calls Porsche beige interiors "yellow" with a disgusted tone like it's the worst thing ever. Funny, because he never picks on tan interiors in Ferraris.

There have been a lot of RNM lately.. Looks like BAT might have to change their reserve calcs soon. Only one 997 turbo on there now so looks like listings are slowing down, there were a lot on there for a bit.

Yeah this may end as RNM as well ...it's at $89k with a little over 3 hours left.

A nice .1 coupe manual just popped up. Will be a good datum for the market. I'd say 100k after fees
