Yes, I see that, but my question really is more about in a six speed - how do you shift into 2nd and stay in boost mode? I can't do it. I completely get being able to do it with a tip or PDK.

As I recall, the overboost thing was mostly promoted as something to give you extra passing power on the highway, when you're in 5th or 6th.

My guess is that it wouldn't work. So like mentioned above my post, probably mostly for highway passing, or if you were in second gear or third gear and rolling into it, you would get the max boost for however long (up to 10 seconds) until you have to shift.

"The higher boost pressure does not just result in an abrupt increase in mechanical loading of the components, but above all also significantly increases thermal stressing. This is due in particular to the continuously rising charge air and combustion chamber temperatures."
GOT IT. Mechanical and thermal stress, and, increased combustion temps aka more prone to knock.
Is this a way Porsche tells us to be prepared to spend 60K on a new motor when we blow it up with that sport button?

Speaking of ultra-low-mileage, here's one with 2700 miles. Weird story about the paintwork because a trickle charger fell on it but otherwise looks nice.

seller added ~2k miles, waited ~18 months, then flipped for ~$50k gain. wild.

Wow, that number is cray cray. I was mesmerized by the dry ice / detailing video, too. Think showing that level of care helped the number a bit, in addition to being speed yellow, of course..!

Dry ice can be dicey if not done properly...plus it removes all the cosmoline and rust protection. If it's just a garage queen then it may be okay.
