6 days to go and we are already at $200k.

That's crazy....78 miles? Question, do people really purchase cars and store them (and never drive them) for a later sale? Obviously they do, but I'm really asking the question. Or is it circumstances that allow cars to sit and then be sold? Seems like a risky endeavor from a financial point of view. This one seems to be paying off.

I'm sort of curious what was said in the controversial video they posted and then took down, was the guy bad mouthing the BaT peanut gallery or something? Also kind of rolling my eyes at the people wringing their hands about the overdue maintenance needs as if it's going to have more than a mile added to it for the rest of its life. (I'm not even bothered by that, this car does basically belong in a museum and there are enough other 09s that can be bought and driven if truly desired.) I do agree it needs a high end paint correction, though.

Bit of both. I've come across collectors that would actually buy two cars, one to store and one to drive. It super cool to see a brand new 2009 with no miles in 2022. You ask yourself the question: Do I go buy a brand new 992 for $300K or spend that money on a brand new 997.1.5? It will be really interesting to see where this one ends up.

I agree the "new" '09 is super cool to see and will bring huge dollars. I love driving and don't get the museum collection thing myself - my '09 just hit 50k - but then again, I don't have a museum or the budget to fill one up...

Interesting discussion. I purchased my '09 turbo 7 + years ago with 900 miles while the 997 turbo market was somewhat soft. When I found the car, I knew it was special and paid top dollar for it as I knew I was getting a practically new 2009 turbo in 2016 with a CPO and 30K mile service by the Porsche dealer. The car now has 12,000+ miles and I'm enjoying the car along with my other P cars. I could have parked it in my garage never to be driven while hoping for appreciation but what's the fun in that? Porsche's are meant to be driven and they don't like to sit. Drive them, take care of them and enjoy them!

The paint looks like it has a lot is swirls and scratches for only having 78 miles. Whoever is looking to purchase the car should search YouTube for Carrio motor cars. Seems like they have been deceptive in the past.

I sometimes fail to look at dealership reviews since I get all focused on the individual car (PPI, etc), but those are among the worst reviews I've ever seen. And there are lots of them. You'd 'assume' that in this day and age of very vocal and permanent customer reviews that they'd want to correct these practices, but it appears pretty consistent. Thanks for sharing. Those would give me pause for sure, and require an on-site/in person inspection.

LOL @ all these low mileage cars..

These Automotive Invesment Enthusiasts I tell ya...

Step 1: Buy car
Step 2: Put car cover and battery tender on
Step 3: Whatever you do DONT DRIVE IT
Step 4: Do an oil change
Step 5: Pay someone to take professional pictures of the car
Step 6: Consign or put on BaT "Documented with service history"

I thought this one went really low. I figured it would've at least cracked $100k. Probably would have on BAT. Heck that's not even trade in value.

i think the market overall is slowly but surely softening. Seeing it everywhere - Rolexes, Pateks, Porsche dealer ADMs, overall used car prices.

Agreed that this one seemed unusually low though (thought it would get low to mid 90s), but a lot of uncertainty in the overall market right now.
