997 Turbo’s on BaT / Pcarmarket / Cars & Bids Thread

I guess it depends on how you look at it. That car (according to the auction) was $132k in 2007. So yeah, dude did pretty well. But there are people who track the value of cars relative to inflation---this might be one of those cases. The MSRP of that car translates to a much more in 2021 money. Only a guess, but I bet the owner was looking for a good $10k-15k more. Not saying it's right or even reasonable, but clearly a case of a guy valuing the car at a price out of line with what the people who had money to spend on 8/12/21 thought the car was worth. Will be interesting to see if this car is listed on Pcar over the next couple of months.
The only other route I would go for 3 pedal sports car might be an Aston.

Nice looking 11k-mile 08:

Not the most exciting spec maybe but should still do well I'd think.

Went for $135k, pretty strong result. But I'm also here to post an interesting throwback I found, a 6spd coupe with PCCBs and Sport Seats and 13k miles that went for just $73k after fees in 2016. (Plus you could write it off as a charity donation.) Kind of a "how it started vs how it's going" thing.

30k mile 2012 TTS Cab sells on BaT for $113k including fees. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...911-turbo-s-6/
Making me feel pretty good about paying under 81 for a 42k mile car... Platinum/Terracotta with PCCBs. Not sure if it's just narcissism, or pride. I won't say I'm never selling, but I can't imagine why I would. When I press the go pedal and the speedtech roars in my ears, I'm smiling like a kid in a candy store, without fail.

I didn't see a 997 Turbo for sale thread besides this one, but Switchcars has this one incoming. Guards on Natural Brown Leather.

Beautiful midnight blue metallic Turbo:

Some tasteful mods with minor paintwork but no reserve so it could be interesting.

i keep seeing references to poverty spec both here and in the comments on auction threads. question is, how many cars are generally optioned better than this one? i am by no means an expert and have only been browsing ads/actions for about about year leading up to my purchase in june but i feel it’s incredibly rare to see many cars posted that stickered for much more the $130k mark.

Agree, if I had to guess I'd say the average Turbo was specced to around $135k (a few mild niceties + Sport Chrono).

Personally, I'll take Midnight Blue metallic on sand over a say a black/black car with $15k more options all day since that blue/sand color combo is ****
