997 Turbo’s on BaT / Pcarmarket / Cars & Bids Thread

The 2011 6MT sale was a huge surprise. I knew it would it would bring solid money but did not think it would sell higher than the lower mile 997.2 GT3 in black that sold last week on PCAR. Is the 2011 MT turbo coupe more rare than a 2009 MT turbo coupe?

997.2 TT Manuals FTW!!!
I knew I should have purchased one back then.. Had a Less than 300 mile example available when I bought my TTS...it sold for only $125+K at the time.
These will sky rocket

Yes, by a fair amount. Another important factor there is that the 09 is mostly the same as the relatively plentiful 07-08, whereas with the 2011 you can't "settle" on a different year .2 because they're all super rare, 2010-2013. I think total 997.2 6mt Turbo coupes over 4 years is slightly less than the amount of 09s in that spec.

Out of those, 488 manual coupe for North America. Something like 700 worldwide. 2010-2013.
This is the best data I could find, and it seems to be consistent.

Wow. Good news is...my wife is a little less irritated about my little purchase in November .
I just passed 13k miles. No longer stock, though. Then again, none of it matters, because I wouldn't sell for 200k. I finally got the car I always wanted, and I still want it. Money is only as good as what it gets you, IMO. I'm sure the buyer of the 2011 wanted it more than he or she wanted the 179k, and that was sufficient motivation, regardless of what the car "was worth". I thought I paid more than mine "was worth" in November, but I didn't care because it was the car I wanted (and now of course it looks like I accidentally got a good deal).
