All the information is in the For Sale ad. It was repainted by Porsche. Don't know what the prior color was but the paint job could just be considered as close to factory, as one can get, at this point.

For Porsche to do it I think that $33k is cheap since a "Chrome look" plastic gas cap retails for $189. He could have bought 174 gas caps instead.
That $33k must be paint only. The labor to do the teardown and reassemble was as much or more. If you figure $125/hour and $33k that's 264 hours.

Dude...it's a joke. I own 9 bikes now and sold my last Harley...a Road King CVO just a few years ago. I also had an amazing Sportster in bagger colors. I owned a Harley when I heard that joke and took no offense to it. Everyone I've told it to laughs at it. Sorry if I offended, but calling me a douchebag is a bit much.

To be clear, when it's being stated that this vehicle was painted by Porsche, it only means that it was organized through a Porsche dealership, using their preferred external body shop correct? I don't believe Porsche do any painting of used cars themselves besides their Porsche Classic program?
Therefore I'm not sure about the statement that this is as close to a factory paint job as possible. It may very well have a better finish/quality than factory depending on the shop (don't think OEM's use anywhere near the number of layers as top end refinishers, and you're dreaming if you think Porsche uses the best paint available), but it will obviously be over the original layers of primer, base and clear.$33k isn't a staggering cost for a full Body-in-Prime paint job, I've been quoted similar on past car projects for good but non concourse level paint starting from a bare metal body. In this case, assuming that there weren't significant repairs/corrections need to be done to the body, then that cost could well contain the disassembly & re-assembly labour, so the paint/painting itself is likely a subset of the $33k

this same winning bidder paid $179K ($184K with fees) for a 20k mile 997.2TT manual a couple of weeks back.

Good for fun on bidding. Takes just one to be interested.
I wanted to update you guys on my wanted add for Carweek. I grabbed a couple of PM's but nothing super serious on pricing shockingly. the higher mile ones seemed to be well loved here. But best bet for wanting one is just to post a thread or find a broker.

Now on to your statements, if you're asking questions, which I think you are with the ? ending your sentences, then I can answer them. If you're being the know it all and throwing stuff back at me, well, then I can defend my position. Whatever the case is, "Welcome to Rennlist". Nice to have you aboard.

You're a new member, be nice to us guys who have been here for a wee bit longer. I've noticed that there are a lot of new members on Rennlist lately. Many go on the attack right off the bat. Trying to make Rennlist a nice place to hang out so in a kind way, take it down a notch.
