I'm a big fan of the GTS but in my mind there was never any question about which car handled better. The GT3 is a pure scalpel. The GTS is phenomenal for it's intended purpose, but in all honesty it is rather boring when compared back to back to a GT3. It always left me wanting more.

FWIW given the large spread between the 7.1 GT3 and RS products, one might definitely consider the GT3's to become a bargain value relative to it's RS counterpart, even at 110-120 in today's market. Production #'s say it all, which is why it isn't uncommon to see many 7.1's fetch close to (if not more) than the 991.1 GT3s.
.1 GT3 = 917
.1 RS = 411
.2 GT3 = 657
.2 RS = 541
That collectivity is certainly a big part of it. It's the icon vs the very-similar-to-and-almost-as good-as the icon. I know in my rational mind my .2 GT3 is faster and even better in some ways. But look at a 73 RS and then the 90's RS and value vs production numbers, and the run-up makes sense. The GT3 RS is just so PERFECT.
A .1 RS is the sh*t. I'm most happy to be dating a girl on the homecoming court if I can't date the queen.
One more note: The wider track on my GTS feels a bit different from my GT3 when I did a back-to-back canyon driving minutes apart. Others with more experience can share their thoughts, but it was surprising to me.

usually, the bottom line in opinion differences, usually comes from those who looks at them as an investment / collectible,... verses those who look at it as a driving experience. different perspectives. both valid.

I think the price is very good considering the current going prices. It may be a good buy for someone that wants to drive it and enjoy it if there was no frame damage. The car seems like it was properly fixed.

I still want a RS, but I want it as a track car. Wanted my .2 to be more subtle and comfy, but still rowdy AF. And it is. And I'm constantly amazed by how perfect it is in virtually every respect. I struggle to find inadequacies.
Re: values - I don't see these going down. Perhaps a slight correction in line with the general correction that *must* be coming for all tangible, high-end assets that have spiked since COVID. But, with production #s under 700 for any iteration, plus attrition and higher mileage over time for those of us who do drive them, 997GT seems poised for continued appreciation. And selfishly, I think the same is true for 981GT4.

It will be interesting to see if the crash in crypto will have any impact on 997 prices. I'm guessing that most crypto millionaires are into newer cars, but we've had some speculation in this thread about crypto helping to drive up prices. Let's see if there's any correlation on the downside.

I'm thinking about putting this up for sale? 2010 Basalt black GT3 with an original sticker price of $149k. Some of the options include full black leather, front axle lift, PCCB brakes and lots of carbon fiber. 27k miles, no accidents, no paint work, unmolested car with clean DME and no visible track time. Recently upgraded clutch to 4.0 spec with LWFW and damper. Coolant lines have been welded. Beautiful spec in excellent condition. Ideally I would like to find a nice 993 TT if anyone has a lead on one.
