I drove it for the first time in 2 months yesterday and it's addictive. I can't see myself selling but this market is getting close to what these cars are actually worth. Being in the Bay Area I'm sure there would be a local buyer in the winter if I decided to list it.
If you can pull $275k this year, I'll buy you dinner down here. You have my handle. But, I'd run it at least once more with a 105 day at Laguna. You brought your son the last time I saw it.

While I agree with you, there is a tipping point for older Porsches. I passed on a 993 TT at $75k that was so insanely perfect. And a perfect Dino 246 for $69k.
It's going to happen for the 996 and 997 GT3 on a permanent basis where they will accelerate up with not a lot of downside. I think we're there now. All the hubbub about 991.1 and 991.2 GT3's built in bigger numbers has passed. And everyone everywhere.....every critic, writer, enthusiast says the same thing. Get a 996/997 GT3 and an early NSX.

Good memory! That was my first and last track day w the RS. I've been having a lot of fun on the track in the green 74 nowadays. We have a nice group that runs older 911s and we have been able to secure our own run group with Retro Sporting. It's a close second to lemons.
Glad you have some fun up in Sonoma. You run or are involved in team then? If so, PM some details when you have the chance. I haven't heard. Would be fun to get back into a lemons type delio again.

I guess I would sell mine for $500k if you want to twist my arm.
I’m not sure why I’m being listed as 250-300k. I would not sell it for anywhere near that range…
Considering the current availability of these and prices of 997.1 RS, I think people should at minimum ask 350k+.

lol I removed you... you just wanted to be reminded how much it was worth Yea I've never seen so many RS for sale actually... so maybe this is the flux point that is going to set these in the $500k range because 250-300k is now the floor. At that price point I just can't imagine driving it carefree and it would take away from the experience, if I'm ever wealthy enough for $500k to be table stakes I'll just get a few cup cars.

If you want to sell yours for $100 then sell it for $100. When enough people hold and aren’t willing to sell at certain price points, the market will eventually rise to meet them. They aren’t making more of this model. Price may fluctuate with seasons and economic conditions, but over time demand is only going to go in one direction with this kind of vehicle. If you can’t afford to hold it, then sell it now at a low price.
I am perfectly comfortable with an occasional summer weekend drive with this car over the next 10+ years. I’m not looking to sell mine right now, but as someone else said, everyone has their price. My price right now is $500k. When people are paying $500k, my price will probably be $750k. Make the market, don’t be a victim of it…
