So where is the market on a non concours level but immaculate "driver" car? I may trade mine as I never drive it. Was the same as the CGT, bought, just not for me. 12000 miles, range 1 and 2, no track time that I can tell, previous cpo car. Was a white/red, but Gavin at autoquest had the red accents and graphics redone in artic silver.

Is it me or are the 996/997 GT3 driven much more than the RS? In general, people seem to lust for an RS but when they get one they end up driving it less than what they expected. I’m not talking DD 5-10k/yr here — just backroads weekend driving, 1-3k/yr would be plenty depending on driving season length. Of course, there are always exceptions.

i guess the question is if the current seller resolved the cosmetic issues
but one thing is for sure, is never buy a car before checking here first

It will probably sell for 130k or more. I suspect he got tired of tire kickers LOL
Auctions are great for sellers because when the hammer goes down, it's SOLD. Buyers can't back out as easily. Car buying is so emotional/spontaneous it's easy to decide you no longer want the car esp when it's a toy or you don't need it.

BAT is a great platform but i think some people don’t understand that the only thing SOLD on BAT means is that BAT receives a fee charged to your credit card. It does not mean the buyer has received payment. You can search the web in regards to some lovely about the instances where the buyer does not perform.

i think some of the RS find themselves in collector hands, so its challenging to addmore miles wen rotating with 5-10,15,20? cars. And collectors generally preserve whatever they are collecting. Then long term i think the RS will be far more collectible than regular version(even though driving characteristics are not very discernable) so this is limiting mileage as well, but as years move on, I believe condition and levels of maintenance (replacing worn parts that are available from Porsche) will determine value in 25 years(i will be too old or gone by then) provided we can still have fun with ICE.
In terms of rareness and collectibility there are probably only few hundred relatively clean 996 GT3 left out of the total 1000 imported to the US. And 996 is the GT3 that's the closest to the Cup car which it homologated.

I would hope to cover 30k mi over the next 10yrs in my 4.0. Of any 996/997/991-2/3/rs/r I’ve owned/driven, I want to experience those miles in a 7-4.0. I have no idea if I’d be better off financially doing that in a 7-3, 6-3 or rs. I don’t think anyone does. My crystal ball for which would end up being the “least bad” financial decision 10 years from now is pretty cloudy. The last time I looked at 73rs’s, I don’t ever remember looking at mileage? I think the guy that drove a 73rs 100kmi ended up ok relative to if he had opted for a 73T/E/S. It’s not an exact comparison, but it gets the point across that we literally have no clue. At the same time, I’d feel incredibly blessed to put 30kmi on almost ANY of those cars, including a 73T (I have a 69E and it’s the biggest smile/$ I’ve ever owned). Buy what you like and can afford, drive it, stare at it, sell it if you get tired of it; that’s my thought on it.

I don't know if it ever sold: it kept being bumped and bumped yet again. Solid price, but there aren't a lot of people looking for "drivers" .2 GT3s with track mods, at least not at $90k. This would be a very fun car to own! It is probably the manual GT car market in general: the GT4 market isn't any better.
