This one shows accident on Carfax but otherwise looks nice, I think. Camera/pics are terrible.

I hope I’m lucky enough to end up with one of the enthusiast owned cars from a member of this forum. I’ve stalked this thread for longer than I care to admit, and I’ll say 997 GT3 owners are a great group of enthusiasts who are passionate about their cars and one of the closer knit communities still around.
As someone who recently bought a 7.2 GT3 private party from a fellow enthusiast, keep an eye on this forum and try to talk to as many owners as possible, you never know when someone might sell.

The good news is pretty much everybody knows everybody in the 997 GT community since there's just not a lot of them out there, and if someone is selling or thinking about selling this forum will be the first to find out.

Friend offered me his "driver' GT Silver 997.1 GT3 with 68k miles in a swap plus cash for my "driver" Ferrari 458. What do you guys think its worth? Seems like the last GT Silver to sell was for 120k on BaT with 25k miles so the color doesn't bring in as much of a premium as yellow/white/red?

I think that BaT car was held back by some speculation in the comments that the car was in a flood more than anything to do with color. Cobalt probably brings the biggest premium followed by yellow just due to numbers. White may bring a slight premium but since it's the most common color by a large margin I'm not sure how real that premium is. Haven't noticed any kind of a premium associated with guards red.

Interested in responses you get here. I've been on the fence about selling my white .2 car with 68k miles. Love it, just rarely drive it. I will say, at least for me, silver has really come back into its own in my mind after being over-played by all automobile manufacturers in the late 90's/early 2000s. I think silver looks great. I owned a .1 RS in silver with orange trim and preferred it to the green .1 RS I had previous to that.

Ive had full leather on my other GT3 and no leather on this RS... I think if I was given the option I would pick full leather...but I wouldn't pay more than probably $5k for the premium.

On an RS I see all the alcantara as potential wear items... even under my elbow on the door it wears. My wife thought the full leather made her feel like the car was a more 'daily' 911 she could go to dinner in she liked it and the smell... she wont ride in the RS because she thinks its ridiculous both in the way it rides, sounds and looks.

So back to others point... no leather, lightweight battery, no PCCM extra amp under the seat, no wart... all things that remind me why I own a GT3RS and not a Porsche Turbo... may as well say that the grab handle on the door is inconvenient and option in a regular door handle for soft hands

Agreed 100%. I have both a Turbo and an RS - the Turbo has full leather and my RS does not. I actually think full leather would detract from the overall "race" experience in my RS.

We really do need to get back on topic. One last thing and I won’t bring it up again. In Andreas Preuninger’s walk around of the 911R with EVO he mentions at 12 minutes in the video that he wouldn’t add leather as not having it adds to the puristic note of the car. If someone wants to have full leather that’s fine it just comes down to personal preference.

I've been looking for a 997.1 for a few months and following "asking" prices for various cars and BAT.
The price is really contingent on the condition of the car along with any maintenance that has been done or would need to be done.
I looked at a car that was local to me with 55K miles on it and basically it needed a full frontal respray.

I use Autotempest a lot. Some real crappy cars listed for a premium price (cars with accident damage with asking prices of a clean car).

If the silver car is clean and doesn't need anything, you'd be right around $125K. If it needs anything beyond the normal maintenance or has issues with history or needs clutch/lines pinned - price would go down from there.

AP is a Porsche salesman at heart, he also said:

Preuninger: PDK and Paddles no heavy, flappy paddle gearbox

Preuninger: "Grandmas can use paddles. They aren't challenging"

Preuninger "First, the PDK weighs 66 pounds. Second, PDK does not have a clutch you can control, and if you want to do really big drifts, sometimes you need a clutch."

Preuninger "The manual gearbox in the GT3 is the best match for the purist."

I do not disagree with any of the above.

Here is one more about electric steering vs hydraulic, skip to 9:28
'if I did, I would not tell you", later he did say the 996/997 rack was a bench mark in the industry. This last part is meant to bring us all together

AP: My favourite GT car at the moment...

GT Silver is a cool color. Only 42 GT Silver .1 GT3's as well. 68k miles is uncharted territory to be able to accurately price. I would have guessed $110-120k, but it would depend how good of condition it's in, is it modified, what is the maintenance like?

that auction result had nothing to do with color. The car was poorly presented and there were some question marks. GT silver is a great and rare color on the 997 GT3. It’s hard to capture its uniqueness in pictures, but In real life and especially out of direct sunlight, it is very rich and looks like liquid metal. If I recall, GT Silver was quite an expensive option, something like $3500.
