I know between the 2 cars (turbo, gt3), they are completely different, but it's still hard to make a decision. The sound of the GT3 is amazing but the boost and comfort of the Turbo is amazing as well. I've driven both and still can't make a decision. Has anyone been at this decision point? Either car will not be my daily. Mostly driven on the weekends etc. Thanks!
If you want a more comfortable ride, some may be able to give you input on putting something like KW Suspension or Ohlins suspension on it to make it more compliant.
My decision was easy as I had a decent amount of seat time in a PDK 997.2 Turbo and while it was great to drive, I'm not a speed guy, I'm more of a sound guy.
First time I drove a GT3, I knew that was the car for me.
Don't judge on infotainment as the 997.1 can have the PCCM+ CarPlay unit put in it.
No wrong choices though as both are amazing. I don't really care what the future value is of a Turbo vs a GT3. It's all about the enjoyment that I get out of it and I think the GT3 is really hard to beat.
One factor for me was the gearbox/shifter/clutch. I really liked how it felt in the GT3. I had driven a friends 997.1 Turbo manual and while it felt good, it wasn't as good as the GT3.

is that really a serious problem? If this happens, then it’s just like a car with no lift.

Do you want a comfy, torquey grand tourer (with back seats for small children) or a peaky, slightly-harsh street-legal race car? Both of those statements may be a bit exaggerated but I think that’s the underlying question.

I went through a similar decision a few years ago except with a 997.2 GT3. I had driven neither before making the decision based on having a more pure NA driving experience and what I thought to be a more emotional driver I chose the GT3. I am very glad I made that choice. To me there is also something more special with a GT car. Just my two cents…

You’re going to have to possibly do coolant pipes and an overhaul on both if it hasn’t been done since they are both Mezger engines so not a huge difference there either.

Driver's seat bolster beat to hell
Chip on CF wing
repainted front bumper and the underside is showing it chipping off.
front side graphics are under the ppf.

Upsides: front clip is PPF and serviced by the dealer.

Pumpkin on BAT

Eagle eye! Thanks! I really shouldn't even be considering, but I nonetheless am.

Broad game plan was to hold my 7.2 til Spring '24, and start a hunt for a Pumpkin, or any Sharkwerks car (ideally a Pumpkin 3.9). But finding someone ready to part with a SW build is probably a long shot.

Love my car, but lusting after a Pumpkin . . .

Well, I'm not a fan of orange but I'm holding mine for the time being. Maybe in the spring, I'll want to part with it. Also please nobody flood my in box with DM's. Not for sale yet.

Sold for 287 (292 with premium?)
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...911-gt3-rs-31/

Honestly surprised it went for as much as it did given how poorly prepared the seller was.

I agree, but on the other hand, not everyone is "us" with regard to vehicle knowledge and passion. FAL up for key pix, really? The comments and paperwork. that it had been dealer maintained may have helped. I think this guy bought a cool porsch (sp on purpose), and enjoyed, it, really did not know what a truly special car he had, and also was clearly new to BaT. Makes it easier to understand why there are so many brokers out there pitching their value that they will add.

I honestly didn't see one imperfection with this GB.2RS. Just not presented in the best way but it's what I would consider a hidden gem. someone got a nice deal. Looks to be a well taken care of car.

2008 GT3. 4600 miles. Canadian car. Looks good and as represented. Will be curious if being a Canadian market example will hold it back, which seems to typically be the case. So hopefully a Canadian buyer can grab it. WP0AC29988S792133

Looks like a very nice example. Posted it on the thread a few weeks ago when it was on the dealers site. They were asking $225k CAD (~$164k USD). Was a great deal, but it’s a Canadian spec car in Canada which hurts the value a little bit for US buyers.
