you may want to watch that red one ending on BAT in a few minutes. looks cheap and appears to be in nice shape. it's a no reserve auction too.
edit: sold fairly cheap at $135K for a red 26k mile car, particularly since the OEM wheels were included.

Yea surprising, and only a few bidders. Seller was unlucky

Someone on BaT called it, it'll be on a dealer website for 160 by end of next week.

Obviously this is all subjective, but to me 140K after bat fees for a six owner car that had been repainted, aftermarket stereo, aftermarket sunroof delete, etc., was all the money and good for the seller.

I was in on it until the last minute and thought it was a good number for both seller and buyer. The work done was tasteful and seemed to be high quality. The wheels, seats and radio came with the originals and accounted for the bulk of the price delta to the strike price a year earlier.

Are you looking for a car to drive and enjoy or a garage queen to collect? These cars are 16 years old and if properly used they will have some rock chips, scratches and paint work to correct some of these issues. I wouldn’t worry too much if it was properly painted.

Soon the 997s will be like the 993, 964 etc. Most have repaints and are still appreciating. As a matter of fact, a well done repaint will look much better and will last longer than the original tired paint. IMO, modern paints are way better than a 16 year old factory paint.
