Totally forgot, there are two issues that I need to figure out:

1- what tire pressure should I start with on the Hoosier r6 ? And what should they go up to ? I usually run nitrogen.

2- I'm considering running race fuel as Bahrain does not have 93oct. My only options are vp103 and vp ms109. Last year I had vp103 but I would like to know can I run ms109 ? Will it effect the fuel lines or pump and is it OK to run it ? Just as a reminder I'm only running a fvd tune on 93oct, cat delete, air filter and evoms diverter valves.

Thanks

Amazing ,

Glad it all worked out for you

You should avoid nitrogen for track use as they tend to take longer to get the tires warmed up plus are a PITA when you need to add extra air on the track

Race fuel is tottaly fine MS109 is much better than VP103 but VP103 is also amazing ,you wont beleive how smooth your car will run with this jungle juice..

Thanks Mohammed without your help and other rennlister's I wouldn't of solved my issues.

I used nitrogen previously as they don't change pressures much on the track. What air pressures should I start with ?

Regarding fuel i ran vp103 last year but this year I want to try ms109, as an extra safe route for knock and a bit more power

Well I came back after my time attack event at Bahrain International Circuit.

We had to run two different tracks on the first day, inner and outer circuit. You can see them here at www.bahraingp.com and GP circuit the second day.

My impressions after the track day was that the best two mods I did was the GMG suspension which was simply perfect. The car was neutral no understeer and no oversteer. Just perfect, I cant describe how vastly the suspension had changed and how responsive and how much i love them, it was that great !!

The second was the roll cage and the euro gt3rs seats. They were perfect with the harness provided more confidence and no movement at all.

Putting the power down was also great, I was able to floor it earlier out of corner exit due to guards lsd.

I didnt quite like the R6's, i saw them as a MSPC+ with a slight advantage but not much. I had high expectations for them. They werent that good holding the power down, wheel spin. I have heat cycled them at tire rack and pressures were set at 29 psi cold up to 35 hot.

Brakes was what ruined my track day. They werent good at all. I have bedded the pads a couple of times before heading to the track but still werent good at all. Had the ABS work sometimes due to braking. I used to brake between the 150-100 metre mark on the straights, the past weekend i was way before 200 metre mark and sometimes it didnt stop !!

Overall I was happy with the car and how it handles but not so much on the brakes nor tires. I was 4 seconds faster than last years timing which is great but still the car has waaaaaay more potential in terms of braking as i was breaking way before the 200m and early braking on any turn and also more grip from a better tire.

These are my impressions of the mods that I did on my car, I hope it helps for anyone considering them.

At the end something bad had happened as the tires started to skid and break loose I lost control of the car, tried to control it for a bit then suddenly snap over-steer and hit the metal barrier on the track. I dont have any pictures of the accident as its at the dealer awaiting for a quote regarding repair, all i can say is that when it happened I was in the middle of 4th gear.

I have some neck and lower back problems now and awaiting for more tests and mri to to make sure of things as on the x-rays things doesnt seem that good. Hopefully I'll be soon back to driving on the track and getting things sorted on my car.

I would like to thank all of you guys for all the help, and sorry to disappoint you with the results as i came back home empty handed but hopefully after I recover I will be working for better upgrades on the car and on me as driving schools to improve my driving, as this incident wont stop me from tracking my car until I master the GT2 which by then I'll look into another Porsche

Thanks again

Sorry to hear of your mishap. Hopefully your injuries are minor and you are well again soon. It would be interesting to know what brake pads and fluid you were running. Not sure if it will help you but we tend to run the R6's a little warmer at 37/38 hot.

Thank you tripleblack. I was running Castrol SRF brake fluid and ss brake lines with new oem pads, yes i know oem pads are for the street but i used to brake between the 150-100 mark on the track with these pads and wanted to get the P50's but didnt want to ruin my ccb. Considering steel for next track season and also 18'' for more tire selection.

Thanks again[/QUOTE]

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident, hopefully there is not too much damage to the GT2 or your back.

I had a similar incident/issue thankfully I did not go off track at Mosport lapping with a Corvette ZR1 (Hoosier slicks). After he pulled into the pits due to a white smoke issue, I kept going and two laps later without warning in the braking zone for turn two the brake pedal went pretty much to the floor. To this day I have no idea how I managed to keep the car on track, and by turn 3 pedal was on the floor. Had the brake fluid changed to Motul, been great since then.

Fix the GT2 and the issues you are experiencing, with the right setup the GT2 is Brilliant!!
