I for one am always cheering when I see 7.1 GT2s go for perceived high prices as I have long believed (as nearly all of us here do) that it is a much more special car than the market has historically valued it at. I don't want to see it remain with the Rodney Dangerfield 'no respect' stigma, and it is high time that these great cars earned the market value that they well deserve.

Happy Holidays to all of the 997.1 GT2 owners out there!

So happy to see a low mileage 7.1 gt2, at a dealer, asking 250k! That price "feels" right, and gives me hope that the 50k mile example with a few stories is still out there waiting for me under 200k!

I'm just hoping someone saves the poor twice-banged silver GT2 living out what has to be a miserable existence under the SEPTA tracks. I have no idea what buys that car, but $140k has to at least be realistically considered at this point.

It's listed in PA, but the guy said it's at his home (or shop) in NY. I called him a while back when I wanted to see one in GT Silver. Didn't plan on buying that one so didn't proceed further wasting his time.

Interesting. Where is the discussion of this car's storied history? Did I miss it in this thread? How serious was the damage? Intriguing.

I don't think I've seen a discussion on this specific car. Most probably assumed it to be damaged goods with 2 accidents. Also, it was listed for $169,995 earlier this year ($20K less than it is now). According to CarGurus, it's been listed for 841 days, so hopefully the dealer would be open to offers. Maybe someone with a Carfax subscription wants to run the VIN?

I had the carfax for this vehicle few months back, I can’t seem to find it now. The seller told me it had seen a couple curbs during its life. The way the front bumper sits didn’t sit well with me. I passed on it not knowing the whole story. Supposedly the owner lives in south Florida but the car is in PA? I didn’t get a good vibe at all from talking with them on the phone and didn’t pursue it after.

I pulled a carfax on it. Three owners and two accidents. First accident was in 2008 and it states "It hit an embankment, damage to the right front, disabling damage reported, and vehicle towed". The second accident reported in 2013 states "It hit a fence, It hit a shrub/tree, It hit a curb, Damage to undercarriage, Disabling damage reported, Vehicle towed".

Was thinking about flying 850 miles to look at it, but I may just pass on this one and keep looking.

Intriguing...for the right price. Did the carfax indicate if the second hit was also at the front? If so, at least the paintwork/damage/possibly shoddy work would be confined to one area of the car!

The Carfax didn't list where the damage was located on the second accident. I called a shop today that did a PPI on it in the not too distant past, and they told me all I needed to know to run from this one. Lots of damage and poor repairs (still broken parts underneath at that time and a cracked bumper), over-revs in range 5, and an oil leak. It'd have to be a hell of a low price for this one to make sense.

^^^ Which is where I pulled $140k from. I think this car is probably WITHOUT 2 accidents at best if everything was repaired with OEM parts by a specialist a $230k-$240k car. I think with 2 accidents, that's a permanent 20% value impairment, so call it $185k best case. There is a LOT going on here and I didn't know about the oil leak. I wouldn't touch this without a $40k+ budget. Just my opinion. Could make sense for someone who can do some of their own work, or have been down this path before. I think most people are going to be too daunted to mess with it.

I'm also trying to figure out how the "GT2" model on the rear got applied that crooked? Low budget full body wrap? Replaced panel? Someone at some-point thought "model designation delete" was the right look and then had regrets?

I do hope someone here does rescue it though....it deserves better!

I randomly ran across this GT2 RS at an Audi dealer near me in Switzerland. The site is in French but here is the Link (but then you need filter to find the car): https://www.garagemonthey.ch/fr/detail-vehicules
Asking is CHF 375'000 or roughly 408K USD.
