That's funny that they raised the price. I was going to comment when we were talking about the Grand Prix car at $350k, that if someone thought that price made sense, then the Intersport car which is a 2009 and 1/2 the miles was a "steal" at $329k.

Ironically, Intersport must have thought the same thing.

The dealers are attempting to price in line with recent 6GT2, 7RS, CGT, etc. results. We would be better served to see a current auction for a clean US spec car, but with only supposedly only ~160 in the country, and a little more than half of them ever having come up, we may have to keep waiting a bit longer.

In the meantime, did anyone catch this article yesterday regarding the reported near future of high performance 911 variants (it will involve MT, RWD, and turbos):

Ironically, the sport classic to me sounds just like the 997.1 GT2. Manual, rear wheel drive, same horsepower at the Turbo S (which was true with the 997.2 TTS, Turbo wide body.....which is pretty sweet, but why not just bring back GT2 (non-RS)?

The 50th RS doesn't sound that exciting. The car sounds nice, but doesn't exactly sound like a tribute to any RS.

The ST does...in fact the ST sounds like it would also accomplish the role of the 50th RS. Lighter weight, more horsepower, free-revving N/A engine.

The rumored car that I'm most interested in though is the "safari", and would likely be the only 992 derivative I would buy if it does get produced.

Link no longer active. Seems surprising if they sold it, but who knows. Whole market is surprising.

If this was a year ago, or even a few months ago, I would have been surprised as well, but something tells me they just pulled off one heck of a flip.

You can put WP0AD299X8S796107 on that list: Black / Black. I bought it CPO'ed from Beyer imports with 3,000 miles on it in 2011. Now 46,000 happy miles!

So weirdly, a few days after the 8k mile white GT2 disappeared from Grand Prix site. This same VIN sub-1k mile car showed up on GP's site with no pics and no price.

https://www.pcarautogallery.com/2008...-gt2-c-297.htm

Now it's been removed from Grand Prix's site but still on All Things Porsches (it's been at ATP for close to a year now).

All Things Porsches did also just add this car to their site:

https://www.pcarautogallery.com/2011...2-rs-c-357.htm

GT2 RS with ~9k miles in white.

The purpose of the list was to get a rough idea of how many ‘08 US Spec GT2s have been on the actively traded market in the searchable past. In rough numbers, there were ~200 made, 160+ of which are currently registered, and a little more than half of that number coming up with non-generic Google hits. If someone wants to copy and paste that list to form the basis of an owner’s registry where RL members can claim ownership of their GT2, and perhaps add some history of their cars, I have no objection. It would be an interesting project. Its certainly been done with other limited production models.

Wow, the one at Canepa is perfection. I'd take that over the new 992 GT3 any day of the week, and for roughly the same price due to ADM (maybe even less!).
