ACE coverage also does not exclude DE type events. Unfortunately my son tested the coverage at Summit Point last fall. Fortunately ACE handled the claim promptly and fairly - just the way you would hope, no issues.

Nick wears a tutu... doesn't count.

For sure better be safe than sorry, I saw that happening with my own eyes to a friend. Lost his car on a really silly accident, and didn't get paid.

I've used On Track Insurance a bunch of times with my 993 TT. Steve who runs the program is a fellow Porsche owner and racer... I know a couple of people that have been payed out without issues. From my experience they have the best program with the best rates.

It's definitely by state. In 2008, Allstate dropped DE coverage in the state of Utah but still allowed it in NC for instance. I switched to Progressive last year (much cheaper than Allstate - same coverage), and the policy excludes "any driving activity conducted on a permanent or temporary racetrack or racecourse"...

One point of frustration is that I spent a few days last summer calling 15 auto insurance companies requesting their policied BEFORE agreeing to coverage. Several said they don't give it out, and others said it was in the mail. To date, not ONE policy came in the mail. All I can think to do is sign up, pay, read the policy, and then cancel and get a refund...
