Your head unit replacement looks good, what model and where did you get it?

Haha I hammered it a bit today. It’s so smooth, the torque down low is interesting. It pushes and pulls effortlessly to 8k.

They did initial break in, and it’ll loosen up time, over 12-1500 miles, if I remember correctly. It’s such an interesting car now. Can’t really describe it. It’s not like a wow in your face turbo boost reaction. Just smooth linear power that it puts down so effortlessly.

And we installed Ohlins TTX pro. Wow, such a huge upgrade from the stock suspension, though to be fair the stock setup is old tech. I can’t wait to get it out on the fun roads

I love my car.

Blew off work for a few hours this morning and went for a solo drive! Helps clear the mind and good for the soul! Passed 26,000 miles and hoping for many more.

Oh man, that's so awesome. I'm stoked for you. Can't wait to hear more about it (and the TTX too, those are on my short list for winter projects)

Replaced secondary air pump, which cracked during engine R&I for gearing, etc. New level of knuckle / forearm torture unlocked.

Dude how much cleaning did you do while the engine was out? You could EAT off that motor.

Lol. It started pretty clean, but yes, one of the few benefits of the disease . . .

What was the cost on that secondary air pump, and availability?

I snagged one with ~20k miles on it from DC Auto. They had a few others last week. It’s more or less the same part for a bunch of cars from 05-12, so should be plenty out there. Retail new is like 1200. Uro brand ~400. I wanted OE, but not 1200, so used was fine for me. Simple powered fan. Should last forever.

Thank you brother!

So I've had a few days to take my car out.

The increased torque is ridiculous. Speed just comes at you so quickly now haha It feels like a higher hp turbo car, but you don't have to wait for boost to build up, and it's so smooth and linear the way the power is put down as the rpms climb. The lightweight flywheel takes a bit of time getting used to. I've never stalled my car previously and I've stalled it a few times already haha, though on my driveway as I try to creep up my inclined driveway. The TTX is so compliant, so planted. The front end feels a bit heavier too. More importantly, my son loves the car, lots of smiles, always wants to go out with me when I take the car out.

Congrats. That's Gotta be something special. Any way to post up a sound clip for us mere mortals?

That 4.0 clutch / flywheel setup is definitely an adjustment. Even changing to it on my .1RS, which already had LWFW, I've felt closer to stalling on inclines.

Can't imagine how much quicker the SW build is. Congrats. Sounds incredible.

Lol I'm just a peasant who loves his car haha I'd post a sound clip but I don't think it sounds that amazing. Definitely nothing like the Sharkwerks blue RS car. I had FVD headers, 200 cats and rear muffler installed and it sounds pretty tame. Nowhere near as fun as the Sharkwerks track exhaust I had with the 3.6 engine. Maybe it'll open up more with time, and if it does I'll post a clip haha

Its definitely an adjustment. But its fun to try to master this LWFW experience as its so new to me. I think the 3.9 revs up a bit faster than my car, at least I think I remember hearing this somewhere.

And thank you for the kind words. I absolutely love this car. I didn't think it was possible to make this car that much more enjoyable...until I got my car back!
