Lol I'm just a peasant who loves his car haha I'd post a sound clip but I don't think it sounds that amazing. Definitely nothing like the Sharkwerks blue RS car. I had FVD headers, 200 cats and rear muffler installed and it sounds pretty tame. Nowhere near as fun as the Sharkwerks track exhaust I had with the 3.6 engine. Maybe it'll open up more with time, and if it does I'll post a clip haha
I have the FVD long tubes, 200 cell cats and side mufflers also. I get what you mean by quiet. When I first installed it, I removed an RSS center delete and was underwhelmed with the volume but I loved that fact that I gained that traditional flat 6 sound back, albeit a bit deeper in pitch, and the power, oh the additional power was nice. When I removed it from the first car and reinstalled it on the second car, which was an RS, I wanted to get some more sound from it and sen the side mufflers off the Gert at Carnewal for some of his magic. Now it still has the wonderful deep flat 6 around town but screams like a track exhaust up high. It's pretty loud.
Gert made the process super simple. Sent me instructions on how to pack the mufflers, exact box size, etc...., sent a truck to pick them up from my front porch and less than two weeks later they were returned to my front Porsche by the sam Fed Ex person who picked them up. All I did was wire a small amount of money and he handled the rest. A class act.
3 hour backroad drive yesterday, early morning wash this morning. Tried out my IK Foam Pro 2 for the first time. Produces some incredibly thick foam. Was very impressed. Just added some normal car shampoo since my wheels are coated.
Happy Father's day to all the dads out there and our dads that may have gotten us into this crazy yet amazing hobby of cars.
Finally properly mounted the PCCM+ microphone. Last year when I was going through the install process of the unit, I was just so excited to have CarPlay and to be able to listen to music that I didn't finish mounting the microphone. At the time I didn't know of any good mounting solutions to put it in the OEM location (under the steering column) and I didn't want to stick it on trim. Over winter I found that Enfig car stereo had a solution that was 3D printed. I ordered it and it has been sitting around waiting for a day off to install it. Install is super easy but when I'm doing these projects I tend to go very slow to not damage anything and to enjoy the time with my car.
Steps:
Remove two screws on steering column
Gently lift top cover up from bottom cover. I recommend using a microfiber towel to protect the trim around the gauge cluster.
Route the microphone from near the footwell area (from behind the PCCM+) through the steering column. I have a fish tape wire puller that helped with this. I wanted to route it away from the steering column, closer to the center console to avoid any issues with interfering with the steering column, even though I always keep my steering column in the same position.
Remove microphone from old housing by removing the one screw and using a pair of needle nose pliers to remove it from the housing.
I then put the microphone into the new housing. I put some tape over it even though it fit quite securely without the tape. I put the black tape over the base of the microphone to cover up the silver so it wouldn't show through the housing. I made the area where the wire routes through in the housing a bit deeper to make sure the wire wouldn't get pinched.
I then inserted the right side of the housing first and snapped in the left side. I moved the left side tab on the steering column trim a bit to allow it to click into place.
I then pressed the top of the housing back into place and inserted the screws. Any excess wiring I zip tied together and placed it behind the center console.
My PCCM + microphone is garbage. I tried in vain to install it perfectly in the steering column and it's unusable unless the car is stopped. Yes, it was removed from the housing and modified. I think a better mic is in order.

The cord is long enough that i clipped it on the cruise control stalk to the right of the steering wheel. Everyone can hear me perfectly even when I’m on it haha

Great suggestion but unfortunately the PCCM+ has a different connector. Not sure if it could be retrofitted to work with the different connector. Video below is at the timestamp where you can see the PCCM+ microphone connector.
Maybe this cord works? Then use a female to female for the 3.5, then use that Kenwood mic? Worth a shot before buying a new unit. Hard to tell what the PCCM mic cable clip looks like but it seems similar to the one on the link above

I took Bxstr's video and slowed it down and snapped this. It's the mic plug on the pccm.
Does this look similar? It’s Amazon, so could return if it doesn’t work. If it does, then could use a male usb to female 3.5 jack https://a.co/d/04aKuACs , mated to that kenwood 3.5mm mic? Hopefully it transmits audio? If this all works, less than $25 in parts
Converted my 18" BBS to 19". BTW - I will be selling my super low mileage Ohlins TTX, 18" BBS inner/outer rims, Nitto NT01s, along with other goodies soon.
Let me know if interested in anything. I'll post pics and a thread up soon.
