You are going to love this! I did the 3.8 rs ring and pinion on my 996 and it was an amazing upgrade. Might I suggest you also swap in the sixth gear from the rs too? Otherwise you may find the rpm’s a touch high when cruising at highway speeds for prolonged periods.

Thank you, I was going back and forth on this and looking into it as well.

Before and after.

Simple, but I like the contrast.

I went carbonlution (taiwanese). Quality was a mixed bag console had some areas that I wasnt pleased with but not visible due to seat bolster or on the edge (thank goodness). I'd say 7 out of 10. The other 2 pieces were perfect. Sam at carbonlution was great to work with throughout and he made it right. I would do it again. Overall I'm very pleased with how the cf looks compared to my beat up center I just replaced
Edit - shift **** was ma carbon and EBrake cover is OEM.

Removed the door panel to inspect blown speaker (I have a blown speaker on both sides). It was a little harder than I thought it would be. You really have to pull HARD to release the clips. I ordered both speakers for both doors so I don't need to do this again. Also ordered 10 extra clips since I broke a couple and they were cheap. 45 deg in the garage probably added to the difficulty. The first of many winter projects

Nice Dave! I will eventually need to pull my door panels to replace the window switch trim and also possibly replace one of the rubber gaskets on the door handle. I have been avoiding it as I know with interior work breaking something is all too easy with old plastic. Glad you got it done.

Ryan - I have DB Carbon in mine. Can't speak highly enough to the quality and I'm beyond picky. Daniel is great to work with too. Also, been enjoying your 996 GT3 build thread.

Long weekend for me so...

- New Cabin Filter
- Alcantara Refresh @ Dallas Steering Wheel (Steering Wheel, Armrest, Console lid)
- Steamed carpet
- Removed console, disassembled the Numeric shifter and found a shredded bearing (seriously hope I remember where everything goes)
- Removed door and ordered a new speaker for the passenger door (to avoid breaking clips simply use a "Pressure Wedge",door panel removal tool and a flashlight)... wedge is also useful to jack cars and break into garages when your done

- Dundon gets here tomorrow... will have to wait a few weeks to fit that in... no lost time though since I have no shifter or steering wheel LOL
