.... are you trying to tell me (without actually telling me), that a widebody GT2 side skirt would not fit a narrow body .2 GT3??

Back when I first bought my car (4 yrs ago), there was a RLer who talked about this, and said there were several options of side skirts that could be made to fit a .2 narrow body. He even did his own car with a 991 side skirt. But I looked for a long time to find that thread, and could not find any search words to uncover it. He posted about the need to modify the bolt holes slightly on one end, but it was easy to do. So I KNOW there are solutions out there.
I'd love to see this because I think it's unlikely to have happened on the 997. The 997 NB doesn't have side skirts at all. The metal body comes down much lower than the WB does. Overall it gives the visual effect of the NB being much lower than the WB. Just another reason to love the NB's.

There is a thread on the 991 forum where a guy added the RS side skirts to his non-RS car. It turned out pretty good, but needed some minor modifications to make it work.

if you compare NB and WB 997 cars side by side, you can see the NB side sill comes down much lower then curved inward, where the WB side sill is “cut off” half way and then the plastic side skirt is attached.

if you somehow find a way to attache the OEM WB 997 side skirt to NB car it will hang lower then on the WB car and the seam between the WB side skirt and body will show a visible gap. There are after market side skirts to fit properly on the NB 997.

Thanks for the pointer to Moshammer.

It seems to have a degree of harshness in the edges. I'm more of a "flowing curves" kinda guy though.

Yeah, it's nice that they make it, but why the strange flat section under the door(?)

This NB 997.1 was repainted with a black stripe to simulate the RS. I think it's a rubberized paint, probably what's used as undercoat on pickups-or maybe just flat black, not sure:

a local 997 owner decided to let me test out his blacked out 997.2 taillights. Tail light internal chrome painted to black. Not tint. curious other opinions.

I have factory oem blacked out tail lights on my 958 Cayenne Turbo,... which has blacked out everything else (window trim, headlight surrounds, roof rack, badging),... & I love it. Completes the overall theme.

But for your 997.2 GT3 in white, with red mirrors, red wing ends, red liptstick & center caps, I'd stick with the brighter original tail lights. It completes your theme too. My .02

If you had everything else blacked, then going for a sinister look might justify those blacked out tail lights.

But I must also say, the fact that your buddy did the conversion from the interior of the lens is pretty cool.

Blacked out vs OEM
It’s a pretty subtle look, but I still prefer OEM. I’m also of the opinion that lights should have the maximum amount of clarity possible since their key function is to light up the road or allow drivers to see you braking/turning. I’d keep yours as is. Very generous offer to allow you to swap and get an idea of them, even though it’s a quick process.

Looks great! I actually bought a black set for my RS, but backed off and kept the red belts. You're making me rethink of using them instead of selling them off.
