Mine doesn’t seem to have much of a gap. Maybe inconsistent QC or a run of slightly off faceplates?

When you check, pull off that plastic protective screen cover.

Thanks again to Raudi for entertaining my questions on the PCCM and even making a quick YouTube video for me last night. The 997 GT community is quite amazing.
The gap at the bottom of the screen was bugging me as I thought it had to do with the disassembly I did yesterday. This morning I disassembled it further and got the gap to be consistent alongside the entire bottom. So I think I did have something seated incorrectly, but it seems from pics and vid’s I’ve seen, some are actually coming this way directly from Porsche. Happy to help out anyone with questions now that mine is installed.
I did notice there’s some white noise with volume at 0, but the radio on, from what I’ve found, that’s normal. Actual reception of the radio is perfect.
I also found that on my CDR24 with sound package plus, there is only one antenna cable to connect. Some cars have a yellow and black one to connect, mine only has the black which from my research is also normal. In those cases it was recommend by forum member Steve W
to connect the antenna cable directly to the unit instead of using the adapter cable that comes with the PCCM. So I need to connect that directly tomorrow.
The fiber cable did throw me for a loop (pun intended). I have a non Bose car. From my understanding the fiber loop was needed. However, I do have the orange fiber cable coming out of my car. So I connected the orange fiber cable directly to the MOST box, please let me know if anyone did that differently. I didn’t use the fiber loop included in the PCCM plus at all. Seems to all work good.
Still have some things to finish up with the install and may not get around to that until next weekend, but again reach out if I can be of help now that I’ve installed it and again thanks to those that pioneered the install.
