VT Blue has called it right in noting that the price is high, but maybe to be expected in the market as it now exists.

Looking at the history of the car in the CarFax; photos of the car itself; and the build / spec - I think it has good bones and excellent potential (pending a good PPI report.) The car just needs some TLC and a caretaker who can bring out its full potential.
FWIW, going to try and take it out for a test drive once roads are clear. Dealer understandably being cautious about letting folks take out the car with iffy road conditions. Totally get it.

waiting for snow/ice to melt around here to do the test drive. Shouldn’t be long, snow does not stick around long out here.

What about this one? Looks like CarFax has damage though.

Run through consecutive auctions back to back to back. I would be super Leary. Looks like someone invoked the arbitration clause after the first auction.

The red coupe in Sarasota is sold before it got on the lot. Sold "As-Is".

Hey Doug curious how you knew that about the arbitration clause?

I googled the VIN on that car and got this:

Holy sh*t. It should have a Salvage title since it was totaled and sent to IAA by the insurance company.

Crazy. Looks nice but not a particularly wild build. Just a solid C2S.

These are things that intrigue me. Compare that one to this one:
https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/2...s-cabriolet-1/

PTS color 6MT 07 C2S Can. Certainly expected it to go for more than $40k plus fee. Both 997.1 but one is 1 year older w/ 25k more miles, Cab vs. Coupe = $10k diff in price?

Certainly makes you think. . .

There are other primary factors in play that need to be taken into consideration.

Cab prices in the winter - usually lower. (The impetus behind sports car purchases can often times be impulse. This drives cab sales in the good weather months particularly.)

The cab has an interior color that hurts it in the eyes of many potential buyers. Red is polarizing - while some like it, many more do not.

Agree and understand those dynamics. They make sense. You’d think the PTS color would add something back. I here you on the red interior. It is a bit much for me as well.

The $10k difference is the puzzling thing. The other one was a pretty common color. . . Expected the difference to be less than $10k. I would expect a few $k. But hey, this 997 market seems to be moving and these are just two data points that probably don’t tell the whole story.
