The thing is, that blue BAT GTS was a unicorn. I don't think it was worth that much, but it definitely was worth more than any I've seen. The rest are just mistaken that this is where the market is. Once people figure that out, it will crash hard. I myself have a 6 speed GTS Cab, so I would love for it to keep going but its unrealistic. Just like the economist Herb Stein said "Things that can't go on forever... don't"
The lack of availability is a big part of what's driving (and sustaining) the market.
That blue GTS is a unicorn, but the value it brought lifts the expectation and outlook for the value of 997's more broadly. Bellwether.
Certainly values will not climb forever. They may continue on in a growth trajectory and then retract some in correction - but ongoing lack of availability will prevent the "hard crash" you've predicted.

I don't agree with that perspective.

That blue GTS was an absolute unicorn. The white ones they have for sale are not in the same league, at all. . . Lots of details taken into account by whomever spec’d that blue one. . . Even passed on the center wheel locks. . .

Manual cabs are MUCH cheaper than coupes and probably have little premium over pdks. GTS Coupes with 30k or more miles is a much softer market. Manual GTSs with less than 20k miles . . . you gotta to pay to play and I doubt that will change unless we have some big macro economic issues which is very likely soon.
RE: GT3s
Some actually just do not like the aero stuff and do not want a GT3 for the street. The 997.1 performance really isn't that great if one is a numbers person and the slightly better track performance makes little, if any, difference whatsoever for street use.
Some out there have discriminating taste and are willing to pay top dollar for rare, mint, super low mile Porsches like 997.2 manual GTSs.

I said 2 to 3 years ago that the 997.2 GTSs were way over priced would surely correct. Said it on here and said it to guys at my local dealership. I was wrong. Prices have since gone up more.

I think Millennial Motors had this car super briefly and ran it through auction in December based on researching the Vin #. Still priced pretty strong for 43k miles. Perhaps the Jeep place addressed the needs and priced it at $73k.

This car was put through auction in December. It likely has needs if someone put it through auction and it landed at a Jeep dealership, This thing left Florida via auction and ended up at a Louisville Jeep dealership.
