This looks like a nice 2010 base with 60K miles for $38K

I don't agree with that perspective.

The lack of availability is a big part of what's driving (and sustaining) the market.

That blue GTS is a unicorn, but the value it brought lifts the expectation and outlook for the value of 997's more broadly. Bellwether.

Certainly values will not climb forever. They may continue on in a growth trajectory and then retract some in correction - but ongoing lack of availability will prevent the "hard crash" you've predicted.

Well, I would rather you be right rather than me.

That blue GTS was an absolute unicorn. The white ones they have for sale are not in the same league, at all. . . Lots of details taken into account by whomever spec’d that blue one. . . Even passed on the center wheel locks. . .

I said 2 to 3 years ago that the 997.2 GTSs were way over priced would surely correct. Said it on here and said it to guys at my local dealership. I was wrong. Prices have since gone up more.

Manual cabs are MUCH cheaper than coupes and probably have little premium over pdks. GTS Coupes with 30k or more miles is a much softer market. Manual GTSs with less than 20k miles . . . you gotta to pay to play and I doubt that will change unless we have some big macro economic issues which is very likely soon.

RE: GT3s

Some actually just do not like the aero stuff and do not want a GT3 for the street. The 997.1 performance really isn't that great if one is a numbers person and the slightly better track performance makes little, if any, difference whatsoever for street use.

Some out there have discriminating taste and are willing to pay top dollar for rare, mint, super low mile Porsches like 997.2 manual GTSs.

Very well said, the only thing that I would mention is the Fed. They are currently printing $120 billion a month to generate inflation. They have said that this will continue for about three years or until inflation exceeds 2 percent for a sustained period of time.

This is the market today.

Just so we stay on topic a picture of my 997.2

I think Millennial Motors had this car super briefly and ran it through auction in December based on researching the Vin #. Still priced pretty strong for 43k miles. Perhaps the Jeep place addressed the needs and priced it at $73k.

A lot of very interesting Porsches have popped up at this Jeep dealership in the past few months (some with history but hard to beat prices).

Well, based on your reasoned analysis here, it seems like the soft spot would be to find a 6MT Cab GTS w/ over 50k miles. . . Still not easy to find and you’d be probably looking at a new clutch fairly soon after that. So even if you can get it close to $60k you’re still probably looking at another $6 to $10k of maintenance (clutch plus other stuff based on age and miles). . . So you are in close to the $70k range anyway. . . Difference it that one may be able to do some of the work themselves and then space out the expenditure a bit. . . After reading up on a lot of posts here, I don’t have a ton of concern if it is a clean high miles car.

I'm pretty sure I saw this car private party for sale back then for $55k....seems like a flip to me. Was a GTS4 in blue also....I'm sure it was the same one. I think I came across it on autotrader...
