But, but... I thought this was in Seattle. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/c...764321193.html <wink, wink> Most definitely a scam.

What about this car? Mileage is high for the price, but it has a rebuilt 3.8 due to IMS detonation. Does this car belong to anyone here? I know there is a sizable Seattle continent on the forums!

This is only 997 related in that I own a 997 and would like this car to keep it company. If the post is inappropriate, please feel free to delete.

Does anybody live near Lake Worth, FL? It is between West Palm Beach and Boynton Beach. Would one of you be willing to check out a non-Porsche car for me? I love my 2009 997.2 C4S. In addition to my 911, I have always wanted a mid-year Corvette. The car I need to know about is a 1967 Corvette with a 427/400 and a 4 speed.

The used car dealer is not being cooperative. At the point, I am not even sure if the car is real, but if it is, I am going to buy it. If a fellow Rennlister will look and say it is really there and for sale, I will be down within 48 hours, maybe sooner. I just have to get a plane ticket. You will have my undying gratitude and a great meal while I am in town, should this come to pass.

If it's real, its a legendary car and I would expect an enthusiast like me will not object to checking out and/or driving a big block Corvette.

Please send me a PM if you are willing to give another 997 owner/lover a hand. Thanks in advance!

You don't tell us what year it is, but judging from the air dam, it looks like a 997.1, maybe a 2008. No matter the year, I think that's a fair offer, especially for a cab in winter. I would take it.

It is actually my 2010 C4S that is on the for sale list. I am now really having second thoughts about selling. I have too much into it since I bought it a year ago. New clutch, winter tire/wheel set, 60K service. I think at this point I am better off driving it and enjoying it for a while longer. I don't think the prices will change much a year from now. I don't put much mileage, but could be at 60 K this time next year.

Is that a numbers matching car? Funny that the saleman would be uncooperative.

Supposed to be numbers matching; block to VIN anyway. I want the car, but he is not answering questions, just asking for a big deposit. RED FLAGS!! But, if he's just a lousy salesperson and the car is real, I want it. I am just not willing to spend $600 for a flight until I know it's real.

sounds like huge red flag. These buys are touchy even when they go well. My friend went to the carolinas to buy a red 68 427 tri carb four speed. Looked gorgeous. Supposedly all redone. Had to put 20K into it when he got home and really looked after it. All numbers matching. That part was ok.

That is a well respected local Porsche mechanic who did the work. Happy to swing by and look for you if you would like.

I know that shop; they did a PPI for me and I would highly recommend them.

I would be interested in this car if it were a 4.0.
