Guys, what do you think about this one:
https://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/cto...731031427.html
6k miles 2010 Carrera S but he's asking for $61k which is over the KBB. How much does a car like this should cost ?

If it's reasonable why is it sitting for sale for a month ?
I'm new to the whole process of buying a car in the US (and especially a second hand 911). So forgive me for asking newbie questions.

A 2010 manual 997.2 is no different than a 2009, IMO. The miles are sick low, however for 61 grand you can easily purchase a (higher mile) 991. I do not see anything "special" about this Tampa car. No Sports seats, no PSE or paint to sample, the fun stuff. It's just a very nice, clean, black, manual coupe with 6,000 miles. It's 8-10k overpriced. I'm in the current market for a 997 CAB and I passed on a 2011 with 26k miles for 49 grand. I would pass, unless you plan on putting it in a plastic bubble for 10-15 years and then try to get 45k for it. Just my .02c

A month is not that long. There are not many people looking for a $60K sports car. If you like it get a PPI and then make an offer. Looks like a nice car.

usually it makes more sense to make the offer after the PPI or before ? I mean if the PPI looks good I'd like to know I've got a locked price and not be out of $400 and start negotiations from there.

If you are 100% sure you want the car, I would make the offer before the PPI and make it pending any possible needed repairs and the possibility of a renegotiated price or you being able to back out at that point if needed.

I think it's a poor assumption that someone looking for a 997 would opt for a 991, if same miles and price. I, for one, prefer the 997. That car is worth all of $58k as it is a 1-owner, manual, .2 S coupe. Assuming the seller is negotiable from $61 to $58. It is definitely not a $51k car as you are suggesting.
I would love to see the 26k mile .2 cab for $49k. Hard to believe honestly. No offence intended. Unless there are multiple owners, carfax blemishes, and its PDK.
I think people need to keep in mind there is significant value add for Manual, Coupe, and Clean/1-owner cars. To me, each of those criteria add $2.5-5k EACH. A Widebody even more so.

The great deal do pop up and are no BS. Here is a 09 C4S that I missed out on because I was out of state. This was a two owner car with only 23k miles, 6 spd manual, coupe, clean carfax with service history. It sold for asking price within one day. This car had a $114k MSRP if I recall. This was a C4S even though the description just said Carrera S.

The ad had a stock photo because the car had just come in on trade and wasn't detailed yet. The ad went up sunday and I called first thing monday. Salesman sent me pictures of the actual car and everything looked great up until the point where he told me they would not hold the car past month end even with full payment. He said if car didn't sell by month end then they would take a deposit to hold it for me. This was on the 30th. I was unable to get there by the 31st. Car sold that Monday night.
