Thought I'd post this since I just had to figure this out myself and maybe someone else will come across this problem.
I had a new laptop that came equipped with Windows 7 and in order to download the Durametric software you have to set-up an administrator account which (for me) was not very intuitive. It wasn't as simple as going into the control panel and clicking on a button but the instructions in the link were pretty easy. This link worked for me and I was able to download:
I made my first coding change last weekend. I followed Pete's instructions for the side marker-to-turn indicator (thanks Pete!) and it worked perfectly. The only thing that wasn't intuitive was that there's no "save" button, so I just closed the program and the change was retained. I can't understand why they aren't programmed that way from the factory, since it's so much safer this way.
Doug, glad it worked out for you. Somewhere on the screen after you make the change, it says something like "writing to module" and I believe the green light on the cable changes to red during that process (also when your doing "Activations"), which is why there is not a Save button - it writes the change right into the module real-time. That's also why you should always make a backup of the current settings for the module you're getting ready to change just in case you do something that's not reversible, and you have to restore the previous settings from the backup file.
Doug, the message might display in the status bar at the bottom of the screen where it usually just says Durametric Cable Connected - I think that changes to "writing to module" or something during the actual writing process, or I could be remembering this incorrectly.
For some reason, on both mine and my wife's which are 2005 997.1 C2S cars, the Comfort Close (Lock & hold down) Windows Feature works fine, but the Comfort Open (Unlock and hold down) Window Feature doesn't function. Haven't figured out why yet.
My guess is that you can trade in for any of the Pro kits as they have a variety of them... but try Owen there for the specifics. He's very helpful. I'm considering a trade-in for the Professional without extension cable or round adapter @ $675.
I just did this and upgraded to a professional unit. They provide a full credit towards the purchase to any professional model.
After just receiving my 2nd pair of JackPoints... the DM Pro tool is now high on my priority list.
That's my setup as well ... 4 JP stands and DM Pro. Only keep adding tools and stuff too ... it never ends. And to make matters worse, in Jan '13 I switched over to an enclosed Featherlite trailer so now I may have to start doubling up on gear!!!

Likely a US Department of Transportation requirement.
my 07 911 turbo--- was able to turn off the seat belt chime (as shown earlier in this or another durametric thread)- but had issues trying to get my windows to go up/down using remote lock/unlock- finally got it working- just wanted to let folks know that to turn this on with pro model you follow coding under alarm to set comfort function window to active and also comfort function remote to active. However under left door & right door you must set the comfort closing and comfort opening to OFF - or inactive- earlier in thread it says to set to on but this is wrong- set it to off and your windows will close when you lock the car with remote and open when you open car with remote- (can also set sunroof if desired)-
hope this helps someone
