What did you do to your 997 today?

that looks super clean. i'm looking at adding a numeric shifter too and i wish there was a way i can just leave the center dash off so everything is exposed like that, it just looks so good. but mine is a daily so i need the storage space, and leaving those cables exposed probably isnt the best idea..
Numeric Racing shifter is one of the best mods you can do to a Porsche. I highly recommend doing it if you are thinking about it. The cables are super heavy duty. There's not way you will damage them by accident.
Removing the center console is probably a bit much for most Porsche owners.I'm just trying to take out anything I don't need to reduce the weight of the car as much as possible. So far, I have achieved weight reduction of 191.4 lbs by either removing stock parts or replacing parts with lighter ones.

Impressive results that make a big difference to the performance of the car. Can I bother you for a list or link to the parts removed or swapped?

Rows highlighted green are the things that are done. And the numbers are final. Rows highlighted yellow means I have paid for but have yet to install/parts not arrived. Rows that aren't highlighted at all means that are planned items. The weight savings for those are estimated. There's a weight saving column as well as a dollar per lbs weight saving column for items I paid for. 191.4 lbs is the sum of weight saving in the green zone.

I’m going to have my center console out so a numeric shifter and cables will either happen now or never (well, not for at least 3-4 years if I don’t do it now).
Are the cables and shifter significantly better in feel as compared to the oem short shifter?
Car is almost 10 years old now and 53k miles so anything I upgrade now I toss into the ‘good maintenance’ bucket so it’s pretty much an open checkbook

We had family fun morning today. Did our first Porsche cars and coffee this am in New Smyrna Beach. Some great Porsches were there. Whole family came so we looked like a clown car with wife and two kids getting out. Met some very cool people who had some beautiful Porsche’s. Hung out for a couple of hours and then brunch at a private airport (spruce creek) to watch the planes.

Replaced the worn stock shift **** with a BFI in smooth nappa leather. Quality is good and weight is nice. Matches up to the 991 steering wheel pretty well. I'm looking forward to the improved shift weight.

got some new-to-me shoes installed. i was lucky enough to find a set of lobster tails locally that were a bit beat up, but got a good price on them. had it refinished and powder coated, and now look brand new. put a set of ps4s's on them. ride is so much better and quieter than before (previous owner had a mismatched set that were getting old).
