I did.. it was tedious to disassemble but turned out good. Not sure I would do it again.

Not sure why someone doesn't make snap on rings like the older models. Sure would make it nice.

Got out and went for a drive. Beautiful day here. Lots of fellow Porsche drivers out including a GT3 RS and 356.

Got out for a ride today and definitely noticed a difference. I can feel the engine singing along like a sewing machine. I don't know but I am sure the mounts were original with 52k on the clock.

IMO: The lighter wheels look better on your car.

Installed some drop-in PH16W white LED bulbs into the 997.2's reverse lights. It's bright.

I’m 95% sure the option code is IXXF? That’s what I’m seeing on a bunch of parts websites too.

Well, that all works together nicely! Aside from the GT3 wheels those are the only other stock wheels I like.

Amazon:
Amazon Amazon

I picked up the 50W version and they are bright. They have an 80W version (an incandescent equivalent rating, I assume) if you want to try that.

Replacement isn't too tough, just takes time. Remove the light, undo the harness (there is a small tab that I stuck a flat blade driver into to get it to disengage), undo the 7 torx screws holding the tail light cover on, then carefully pull back the cover. Remove the 2 wires going to the bulb. The light itself is held in with 2 more torx screws. Install the new bulb, re-attach the connectors. Next step is a bit more tricky. The rubber gasket will be stuck on the housing most likely. To make sure it seats properly, carefully remove it (making sure not to tear it) and then place it into the groove of the cover. Then you can re-attach the cover and tighten down the screws.
