That wheel upgrade is awesome! I wish I could find one of those in sand beige for my interior. One last thing that might finish off that look on your interior is the foot rest pedal trimmed in matching aluminum so as to match the other 3 pedals in your car. I’m a little pissed cause I had to buy it, as Porsche fits them standard starting in the 991, but to me, it looked unfinished without the matching rest pedal...

Yesterday was a warm spell in Minn-snow-tah, so my wife and I decided to go for a drive to several dealerships and see what's out there for my next toy. I ended up at Porsche St. Paul where I was lucky enough to ride and then drive the new Taycan. OMG!

You can see the Taycan in the background.

The receptionist was also kind enough to take my 997 through the car wash, so that was another great bonus to my day.

Hopefully your next toy won't be a replacement for your current one! The Taycan has novelty value now - but fast-forward 5 years or so, electric vehicles will be mainstream. In other words - transportation appliances.
Your car is and will remain special. Don't give it up for a "toaster".

I love your response! That got me chuckling. I'm definitely not giving up anything for a "toaster." When I think about the future of the car industry, I simply listen to the song Red Barchetta by Rush. It keeps me grounded.

Installed a Numeric shifter, medium-throw setting. As many promised, this dramatically improves shifting.

And any DIY that doesn't require me to get dirty or jack up the car, while providing this much improvement, is a major winner.

Default Getting there

Finished install of my new IPD intake plenum and Sharkwerks by-pass pipes. Next up is this Numeric short shifter and Numeric cables. And then it goes to a local indy for a Stage 2 Clutch kit, Eibach lowering springs, a new p/s pump, and a major service. How can I clean this grimy engine compartment?

New IPD plenum

New Sharkwerks bypass pipes.

Are you planning on installing a GT3 TB to that plenum?

The car is a 997.2 C4S, the 3.8 Liter DFI motors came with the GT3 throttle body. So, no, I am already there.

I have new BMC foam air filters, too. I think the car will be even more fun to drive with BMC, IPD, SharkWerks, Numeric, and Eibach. Yeah, I know, but I'm not going to track it and $3,500 for coil-overs is not in the cards this year. I am hoping for quicker throttle response, precision shifting, and a more satisfying exhaust tone.
