I replaced the windshield washer fluid tank and seals on my 2009 997.2 C4S. The tank was cracked and had drained 100% of the fluid a couple of times before I figured it out. By the way, I have the car on four HD jack stands with LiftBars. LiftBars are great for safely raising 911s.

That plenum install is fun. Wait until you try and get the side rubber boots onto those openings and then tighten the clamps without them wanting to rotate toward the back.
Seems like it provides a nice bump in high RPM airflow though. If you're doing other intake mods at the same time, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes before the first drive and it will force the car to remap the fuel trims to get the most benefit. It will do it eventually, but will do it faster with the reset. Clean the throttle body while it's out, especially where the plate mates to the sides when it's closed.

Go under the car and loosen the motor mount bolts down to near the end of their travel. that will drop the rear of the engine and give you more space in which to work above it. If you have a couple nuts with the same thread as the MM shafts, you could put those on at the bottom and use them as a stop nut for the real ones as you lower then down, just to make sure they don't come all the way off, but it's probably not necessary for the car just sitting there.

I am really hung up on whether I need to detach the exhaust to allow the engine to come down a little more with a floor jack under the oil pan. Will being connected to the mufflers in the rear fenders limit the downward motion or does something else stop it first?

You don't need a jack for this. Just loosen the motor mount nuts on the bottom and stop before you get to the end of the threads. Don't support the motor by the oil pan - you'll risk cracking it. Use the beefy aluminum cross member instead.

Installed Numeric Racing short shifter and cables. Also changed the transmission oil with PTX while I was under the car. The hardest part was getting the car up on 4 jackstands. The front was easy enough as I have a pair of Jackpoint Jackstands, but the rear took a bit of work with both of my floorjacks. Would have been much easier if I didn't have my truck up on the lift while I'm waiting on the axle work.

I had the B&M short shifter on already so the throw was about the same, maybe 25-30% less than stock, but I could make it really short if I wanted. The Numeric Shifter is much smoother and more precise in the action. To me, its like the action of a well lapped bolt in a rifle -- the other part of the equation is the installation of the cables. They are locked in place and have almost no slop in them. The Numeric cables have much more adjustment than the OEM cables which allowed me to adjust the lever a little more to the rear without any engagement issues. And the PTX fixed the shift into first at stop completely, plus the transmission just feels smoother. So yeah, when I'm driving its light years ahead of the plastic body setup. Feels like a new car

Dropped it off at Warrington Porsche (North of Philadelphia) for an 84,000 mile factory service, fresh Motul and a brand new 2nd key (which I have been debating about the need for). Have to say, the client experience was exceptional. I got a brand new Macan as a loaner. It is sweet.
