IMHO going to the top line is too far with the real possibility of being at the top of the top line.
Oil temps vary with driving type and conditions. Volumetric expansion is expected with temperature rise. The AOS can suffer.
Race prep generally wants to see the gauge toward the bottom bar.
On a .2 car, where the level should be checked with the engine and oil warmed up (which I'm assuming is the reading provided) there shouldn't be much, if any, volumetric gain between say 180 degrees and 240 degrees, at least in my Cayenne, I don't see it, where I can check it on an actual dipstick. My cold oil level and warm oil level are almost identical. Level also probably depends on what the plan for the car is. For example, I usually run mine at the top line or one line down - I never let mine stay at 2 lines down. If planning a longer trip or spirited drive, where some oil consumption might be increased, I'd start at the top line. Since almost all my drives are spirited or semi-spirited, I keep mine closer to the top. If I'm not going to drive in a spririted fashion, no need to take that car.
I got the Gundo hack done to my 05 C2, but I'm slightly disappointed. Not that I'm not intoxicated by the sound at WOT..
But my previous 997 C2 also had the hack done by previous owner using 1.75" pipes and that was amazing!
Current car also supposedly has 1.75" pipes, but it's not loud enough like the old car - the essence is present, but I expected a slightly louder growl.
I want my old car back!
Sigh.. maybe this is better since I also take my toddler son everyday in it, so don't want to scare him (for now :P).
New tips!
65 degree 2.5” mandrel bend welded to 4” round slanted tips similar to 997 Gt2rs style.
Intriguing, and I applaud your creativity. Definitely looks much more aggressive from the rear. What else do you have as far as exhaust components or is everything else stock? and is that a 4/4S?

thanks btw... I was going for a look similar to the 997 slanted tips on gt2’s or on this turboS in this pic below, and had never seen them on a C2S so what the hell. Just both side muffles deleted and that’s it.

I am not a fan, to me it looks a bit too rice racer-like...
But kudos for trying a new look, different strokes for different folks
Replaced the fuel cap (due to broken tether) and coolant reservoir cap (due to a little leaking). Until I found the details of how to remove the tether, I could not figure out how to pry it out... turns out the darn rivet is reusable once I figured out how to do it correctly.
Installed the Proclip mount for the iPhone in my 997.2. It all fits together nicely but I need to figure out a clean way to route the cable to the UAI in the armrest.

I use the 12v socket on the passenger's foot well on the left side to run my radar detector and charging phone. You should consider this phone holder, a much cleaner look IMO.

I'm running my phone connection to the UAI so that I can listen through the PCM system, not just for charging, so I can't just use the 12 V socket. Also, I'm picky about not putting my phone in a case or sticking anything to it. so this ProClip mount was perfect for that.
Change the spark plugs and coils today. What a pain the in ***! Luckily I had a friend helped me otherwise I wouldn't be able to do this by myself. Taking the heat shield off and putting it back on was the hardest part. I took the exhaust manifold off to make it easier access to the spark plugs, While I had it out I installed new flange gasket. The spark plugs didn't look as bad as I thought it would at 56k miles. These were taken from bank #2. Glad I finally got it done though, I notice the engine idles smoother now, the RPM needle use to jump between 7-8 hundred, now it's steady at 800. Next project, transmission oil change.
