I did the shift cable end bushings, the shifter bushings and motolube PTX gear oil all at the same time. The car shifts sooo much nicer now. The gears are easier to find and no doubt when the gear is selected. I would say it was definitely worth it. 1st an 2nd gear were really difficult to shift into when cold and now they are like butter. I attribute most of that to the gear oil though.

You just crystallized why I did not back date it and / or make it a widebody. The only change that can't (or shouldn't) be returned to stock is the sunroof delete.
Set up right, 964s, while not nearly as fast as 997s, are much more engaging to drive imho. If you can get behind the wheel of a properly set up one, be prepared to dip into the back accounts because you will want one.

As much as Porsche is trying to relate their current models to their past marque, it cannot. In fact, nobody could. This includes Ferraris, BMWs, Alfa Romeos, Lambos etc.....
The new kid on the block seems to be Tesla which to me while having the performance, but lacking in soul and passion.

Today I changed the engine and cabin air filters after picking it up from the dealer who did the dirty work (plugs, fluid flush, oil change). Doing those two parts is how I justified paying the bill for the others... it's also the first time I've done anything to this car other than some stickers! Now to sort out the subwoofer that the PO decided was not important to get hooked back up after replacing the head unit and amp. And to figure out how to work in the garage when its in the 20s.

What part number did you use? We were considering GT3 997 424 010 91 for our 997.1 c2s project

Thanks to the excellent wire-up from TheBruce, today I got the center radiator and the Rennline grills done (it took me longer than a day with a few 2-3h bursts of effort).

Coolant flush and fill with Schwaben tool and test run down the freeway - everything works and no leaks!

Also got the GT3 brake ducts in as the car was up and the wheels were off.

Height looks great. Any thoughts of spacers to get the wheels more flush with the fenders?

Added some Carrera script decals to my C2. Arctic Silver was basically the last color I wanted, so this at least helps add some contrast and flair to an otherwise (imho) boring color.

Wow, AIrey1507. Your car and mine could be twins! Edit: Except your amber fogs. I have yellow bulbs for fogs at least.

Ha very cool! I went with amber for the lower lights since their primary function is turn signals, which are already amber. Also reminds me of the original 911 & G-body look with only the round headlight and orange rectangular lights up front. But because of the grill treatment on the 997.1, it also cribs from the styling of my all time favorite car.
