First oil change under my ownership, it's been running Mobil1 it's whole life so thought that it's time for a change.

Also changed out the manual transmission fluid, got rid of the annoying first gear notchiness and made the overall shifting feel even better.

What did you go with for the manual about ro replace mine based on age not miles.Planning on using the OEM fluid.
May want to check the torque specs on that new drain plug it's typically 1/2 of the stock plug

I got the mobilube 75w90 oem fluid from sunsetporscheparts, it will come in generic 1L jugs as they buy it in bulk and repackage.

Today I converted he footwell accessory socket so that it turns on and off with ignition in order to avoid having to unplug a bunch of adapters when I leave it standing for a couple of weeks. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ry-socket.html

Installed Rennline semi-solid engine mounts (softest inserts). Drove the car approx 40 miles in different conditions and initial impressions couldn’t be better.

Zero vibrations at any rpm’s, just enhanced engine noise and more sharpness everywhere. Love it.

I also believe that I have finally achieved gear shifter perfection thanks to the combination of these mounts, the Numeric Racing shifter, and the FF shifter cable ends.

I've often been intrigued by the statement "I replaced my engine mounts with XYZ setup, and the shifting is better". This of course, would be valid for solid rod type shift linkages. I can't understand how our car's flexible cable type shift actuation is affected by a few mm difference in dynamic engine movement reduction. Just think how cable operated motorcycle front brakes (remember those?) used to operate right up into the 80's for dirt bikes with long travel suspension etc.
BTW, your new mounts look trick, to say the least. I have a set of RS mounts to go in when I decide to crack out the car jacks!!

cheers,
Craig
