If you are concerned about the low clearance, have you considered the "EMC2 991 spoiler adapter kit" that lets you install a 991 spoiler to 997?
He has kits for both 997.1 and 997.2 I think.

I did consider that, and am still considering, but TBH I'm not sure I like the way it looks on the 997. Much prefer the lip that wraps around the ends and includes the vents. The 991 lip seems a little too "chin-pointy" in the front for my taste.

This is the one I bought. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911...wAAOSwn1FZrFMZ I bought it six months ago when the price was around 400 total. The black was clean but a coat or two of black plasti-dip and it'll look perfect

Haha, totally agree that the 991 lip makes a 997 feel Jay Leno-esque. There's a reason why the Sport Classic ducktail fits so well with 997... because it stays and accentuates the curves and roundness as opposed to sharper edges from newer generations.

Great choice! Looks amazing! just be careful with those drive ways and I would recommend PPF to protect that fresh paint and lip spoiler!

haha, I agree completely with the Leno-type look of the 991 spoiler on the 997. But that is exactly what I'm going for, so that I won't scrape it twice a day
My motivation was to balance out the downforce from a ducktail that I am soon to add, hence didn't care so much about the looks.

Enjoyed the springtime weather and drove on a little dirt. 24 hours later, it was snowing... again. Looks like I can switch back to summer wheels this weekend though.

Surrounded by Subarus and trucks

The MTB got some new shoes and they were terrific on the granite slickrock.

Today was productive. My 997 got a much needed bath, leather wiped the inside and order some door decals. Excited for mail in a few days.

Thanks! Ordered Xpel Ultimate kit the other day since they actually have the Sport Classic in their system and it includes film for the lower lip.

"Would it look ghetto mounted unpainted?"

Surely, there is a better way to express the idea than this thinly veiled , shall we say, uncharitable characterization.
We ARE better than that aren't we?

Correct that the 991 lip doesn't wrap all the way around. This has some advantages in reducing scraping at the corners.

I thought it was also important to point out that most photos you see of the 991 Spoiler are taken closeup with wide angle shots (including some that I posted), significantly exaggerating the "chin" look. In reality it is much cleaner fit.

Below are some images that give a much more realistic perspective.

Personally I really like the OEM Sports Classic lip and it would be my first choice if I had the corresponding bumper. The aftermarket copies I looked at in person had too much of a snow plough look (for lack of a better description), especially at the corners. However, this is all just personal opinion/ preference so there is no right or wrong option).

At the end of the day if you find yourself looking back to admire your car whenever you park somewhere - that's what counts ?

Prepping for my first Porsche DE day at Pocono Raceway next week. Pre-Race inspection and my new indy replacing the front pads for state inspection. Great guy, really impressed with his expertise and shop vibe. Highly recommend in Philly suburbs:

Summer tires going back on finally. The 305 rears look huge next to the 265s I use in winter.
