Installed a new style of front LED lights that resemble the newer Turbo car ones with the perimeter light band for the parking lights instead of the horizontal bar in the middle. I've actually had them for a week but dropped them off at my vinyl guy to add clear-brad protection to the lenses while they're new like I have on all my lights. Protects the lenses from road debris and adds another layer of UV protection to the plastic lens.
I think they're a cleaner look and I have a current sensing DRL module in my car that activates the front parking lights automatically when I start the car and those are larger and brighter in this version than the previous version.
Fogs still light up white LEDs in the housings and turn signals are amber LEDs .
In testing them after install, I also realized that they have internally circuitry yo temporarily cut the power to the fog light on that side when the turn signal is activated to make the signal more visible and not washed out by the fogs. Most newer cars do this as well. Cool.
When the sin isn't she I g directly at the front of the car, I'll add some photos of the different light functions activated and maybe a short video of the turn signal defeating the fog light while in operation.
Changed my oil and filter. Have been using Castrol Syntec but had a couple of jugs of Mobil 1 0W40 hanging around so used that. Despite all the slagging of Mobil 1 on the various forums it seems to run fine and hasn’t grenaded yet.
I call this butt pucker hill!
We drove from Orlando to VIR for the Zone 2 DR we had a blast! Our instructors were both top notch. I can't wait to do it again!
This morning I retrieved my 997.2 C4S Cabriolet from ClearBra Wisconsin, the Milwaukee XPEL Clear Bra installer. Todd installed XPEL Ultimate over everything in front of the doors, the stone chip prone areas at the front of the quarter panels, and the mirrors. I am very happy with the service and the quality of install.
Half of it was driving home to Texas from California. The other half I can’t really account for except I just drive and have fun. No real road trips yet, just driving around having fun. Oh yea it is my DD. I don’t believe in garage queens.
Decided some protection for the front radiators wouldn't be a bad idea.
Started with this coated gutter guard, cut to fit and painted flat black to help blend in. Secured with small black zip ties. Total investment about $5 and maybe 90 minutes time.
