Road Trip Across America 4976 mi.
Here is a diary of posts from my recently completed Break-in Road Trip.
As some of you know I have ventured out on the road quite a few times,
so I thought I'd share this adventure with you!

Since I bought her 2 months ago, I have had the urge to take her cross country. Can't get enought seat time as a father of 3 young ones and the 911 as the Sunday toy.

911s make excellent road trips. Thanks for the videos!

Brian,
Thanks for the video, makes me long for another trip to Birmingham. Did you have winter tires installed? If not, how did the summer tires do in the cold, snow and ice.

Cup Tires were replaced with PS2's
At temps in the teens/twenties PS2's = hard rubber tires
basically there was no grip on the snow/slush/ice conditions which I drove in. Interesting feeling rear end lateral movement at times on the highway.

I had a feeling that would have been the result. Sounds like a great trip, maybe we should set up a Rennlist road trip from all over the US and participate in a masters program and celebrate with a big party afterward.

Although for us snow covered people in the Midwest, early
Spring would be the best time.
Perhaps a meeting near Alabama -- for those who are planning
on taking the driving school course.

If you want to open up your new car, I suggest that you go through Nevada on US 50. I is flat, straight and unpopulated. No traffic, no radar, not nothing. It starts where I70 ends (more or less) and goes straight -- and I do mean straight -- across Nevada. There is a National Park (Great Basin) on the way and some hills but mainly ... nothing. Just make sure you fill up whenever you can. It's more fun than I80. I take it through Carson City which has an interesting state museum and then drive on to South Lake Tahoe which is a good place to stop.
