Default Road Trip across America Day 1

LA to Las Cruces, NM day 1, 797 mi, 12:45h in the seat.
The Sport Buckets are great on the long haul!!
Rain heavy rain leaving LA, so glad to have PS2's
Dust storms in AZ, to where traffic came to a halt.

What's up with the Phoenix area and all the Un-maned Policemen?
Photo Enforcement Zones are everywhere...Cameras in the median, Cars at the side of the road...Sheriff Joe Arpaio has to be making a monetary killing.

It's been a long day, Im tired...more to come

Nice pics - cool trip. The Gt3 looks awesome in Guards. Congrats. At this rate you'll hit run in miles pretty quick. It rained in LA today? I live here and didnt notice any rain - very early maybe?

WOW, 22.4 mpg!!! That is pretty good for a GT3! I hope you will not go so easy on that engine after break in miles! Safe travels to you!

Dude, you are driving to Birmingham? From LA? Holy moly. I want to ride with you in the Red GT3 to the track instead of taking the van!

Hey- be safe and enjoy

Very cool thanks for posting!!
Hopefully you have a radar detector with you.

Driving around the country at least once a year (But not in GT3), always amazes me again how big and beautiful this country is. If you have the time and you are not too tired take some detours off the main interstates.

I always get pulled over before I get to Yuma. Sometimes rental car, always foreign language and foreign drivers license always saves the day ;-) Now that we are going to the European system of "drive as fast as you want as long as you pay" with the camera systems, the good times may be over...

Enjoy and keep us posted!

Great thread - +1 on the more photos!
What route are you taking (main roads with the trucks, or off the beaten path)?

Saw that AZ dust storm on the news last night here in the bay area. Holy chit man. Looked way nasty. I hope upon hope your paint job wasn't ruined from it.

Also hope that's the worst that happens to you on this trip. Smooth sailing from here on out.

You may want to check your air filter.

Phil
