Pete, I was hoping you or Charles would pipe in. My actual interval was actually 2 years and 6,000 miles. I hope that ameliorates the concerning result a bit. In any case, I should plan on doing my next oil change at 1 year or 5,000 miles, is that your rec?

Well determine this by looking at the metal wear numbers, viscosiry numbers, and the TAN & TBN, along with how much Moly, Zinc, and Phosphorous remains from the anti-wear additive package. On the next sample, pay the extra $10 to have the TAN and TBN tested too.

I personally would do 5,000 miles or 6 months. Time is an important consideration and let's face it, oil is cheap. If the car sits and isn't driven frequently (as evidenced by low mileage like 6,000 miles in 2 years) you can get moisture and acids formation, which will interfere with the oil and additive package and inhibit it from doing its job properly.

The report is missing a change done at 106,600 right in the middle of the current one and the high mileage one, so this sample has 3,000 miles but went 2 years. Aside from an increase in copper from waiting too long to service her air filter (which I did do with this oil change, you can see that the TBN is still significantly higher than the TAN so the oil did not become acidic from sitting in the sump for 2 years. If you compare the TAN and TBN numbers from the prior sample where the oil was run too long (7,800 miles) but for only 1 year, you can see how acidic that became even though it was only in use for 1/2 the time. This reinforces my opinion that mileage is a much more significant factor in oil degradation than time and why I'll continue to base my changes more on mileage than time, at least with the Driven oils I use.

If all those tribological journals end up being wrong in hindsight later, I can sleep at night knowing I might be leaving $50/year on the table to change my oil more often.

Been running Driven DI40 for years. The last time I ran Mobil 1 was probably 20 years ago but back then it was still a good oil.
Oil has gotten more expensive but before the supply chain disruptions it was very easy to buy DI40 at $8-10/quart and I stocked up. Whatever the cost is, it's nothing compared to the cost of the components you are relying on it to lubricate (and transfer heat away from). It's pennywise and pound foolish...

Just received my report back ... I was slightly concerned as my last report indicated wear metals being slightly higher . This report appears to show wear levels back to normal . I was running X-clean 5w40 (received a case for free and since it's A40 approved ) for the last two changes along with a Techron injector cleaner right before the oil was changed along with Mos2 on both occasions.
Just put in xcess 8100 5w40 this time around ... Report looks decent anyway ...

Driven says you can store their oil for up to 6 years so the following question is really curiosity more than anything else. I have ordered a lot of DI40 in the last year mostly from Advance Auto Parts (that was sent from Comp Cams). I queue the oil for use FIFO and when I got the case from LN yesterday (thank you again) I can't help but to notice at least 3 different bottle types in my queue. And then I see yet a 4th bottle design that looks completely different on the LN site:

Driven says they only changed their bottle once at it was about ~2+ years ago. Any idea why they are changing the bottle/cap so many times in presumably such a short period?
The following picture shows the oil left to right from oldest to newest as far as order I received it. I also noticed that the older bottles (the one to the far left) don't have the blue alpha-numeric batch code. The two to the right do. The one on the far right is what I got from LN.

Don't go off our pictures on our website as I have never updated them from when I photographed the bottle originally :-)
Regardless of the packaging changes, there hasn't been a change to the oil in many years when Driven switched from Lubrizol to Afton for their additive pack when Lubrizol discontinued the package they were using.
