Have UOA going back to 25K miles on a 5-6K mile interval using only DI-40 with the same consistency in numbers. No doubt there is a lot to be said for the driving conditions, luck of materials quality and skill in the assembly process, etc., but figure the oil is also now a key component in longevity.

Default Also DT40 oil analysis

Figured this was a good time to share my DT40 sample. Compared to my 2 other mobile 1 samples I am very happy. These are mostly highway miles with 1 Laguna Seca track day.

now have DI40 in my 997.2 so we will see how that holds up. Especially with my 50 min commute in 110+ heat this week!!!!!!!

My levels certainly aren't perfect but definitely improved with DT40...
can't figure out how to upload the pdf...

Here's another one. Looks like it falls within the range of most of the rest of the good reports on this thread. Only thing high is TITANIUM. Where the hell does that come from???

The fuel comment from them is of note, too since the oil was hot and I NEVER let the car idle more than at a stop light.

2006 C2S, 50k on car, 2,500 and 10 months on oil. Castrol SYN 5W-40 (replaced w/ Liqui Moly).

I think I found my answer. Sounds it’s a Castrol thing. That number just caught me off guard because I was unaware of any Ti in our engines.

first one, curious to hear thoughts. 3.6L, not 3.8L. 52k miles. Just did service and switched to liqui moly 05-40.

Nothing wrong with that report at all. I've been trying to work with Blackstone to get them to realize that the Porsche DFI motors all have this 0.5 rating of fuel content that the earlier port injected engines do not. It shows up in almost all 997.2s, in my 09 Cayenne Turbo S, and really every DFI Porsche of this vintage. Don't worry about that at all unless you see it increase in future reports.

Thanks for the feedback. Gives me some peace of mind because I was a little concerned about the oil consumption. Think I just have a thirsty girl. Switching to 5W-40 should help.

I didn't see anywhere in the report where consumption was shown? How much did you consume in that 4,000 mile change interval...hoping not more than 1 quart, though there are some .2 cars in here that consume a fair amount of oil and have since new without any more negative results. Seems odd to me as oil consumption has to do with either crankcase pressure, ring seal, or other potential issues with a motor. I don't have many engines that consume oil. My 84 928 S uses a decent amount on long highway trips - maybe a quart every 3,000 miles. My wake boat needs about 2 quarts throughout the entire summer, and none of my other engines (1 GMC, 1 Audi, 5 other Porsches) all use less than 1 quart every 5,000 miles.

All use Driven oils - DT40, DT50, or FR50

I think there’s a note in there but 2 full quarts went in. Tried to keep the oil indicator in the middle. Indie recommended Liquimoly but I do know Driven is a better product.

The problem with these reports when any significant amount of new oil is added (say more than a half quart over 4-5k miles) there is a dilutive effect on the amount of wear metals. Iif you can take a sample before you add any new oil, then the metal wear ration to the mileage on the used oil would be more indicative, but that is not really practical to do.

I understand the approach, but since I assume that wear occurs continuously, it is a real value, especially since wear also disappears with the burning oil. Of course, only if you do not top up immediately before the oil change (!)
But the question is interesting!

Definitely, if you expect fuel in the oil (and i learned that it is normal for DFI engines), the fuel per se reduces the viscosity (Fuel has ~0,5 cSt (mm²/s)). Therefore I would use at least 5W-...
0,5% Fuel (~40ml) reduces viskosity by ~2%
