I added a USB flash drive.... This basically gives you the ability to store 500 more songs. Create 5 folders with 100 songs in each folder. This will be displayed as CD01 - CD05. CD06 Is Overwritten by "Change Mode" command. The display in PCM looks exactly the same as for the SD card. You will now just have an extra "Change Mode" option for more CD storage.

Yesterday I got the error "system-error-amplifier-not-available" on my PCM (997.1 C2). I pulled my LAPower unit out from behind the dash and it turned out the power line came loose. I plugged it back in and everything went back to normal.

Regards,

Skypalace

Thank you. I finally got around to fixing the whine & did exactly what you did. I twisted the red & black wires together and moved the ground from the cigarette lighter to the screw they holds the cigarette lighter trim piece in place. This was a good move!!!!

No more whine.

Edit:
This morning the whine came back however I learned that If I turn my volume all the way up on my IPhone the whine goes away.

thank you,
b

Installed this today. Works excellent. Very, very happy to have Bluetooth music streaming. Impressed by the sound quality. Thank you everyone for your contribution to this thread.

The Mr. 12 Volt kit from eBay is much easier to install then the Dension I did 3-4 years ago. Maybe the Dension was updated since then but when I installed the Dension I had to physically undo the fiberoptic wires from the connectors.

The Mr. 12 volt kit came with an in line splice for the fiberoptic. Plugged the optical in, gave it power and done! Was kind of dreading it due to my past experience but was super simple.

Thank you for the suggestion. I used the double sided 3m tape, included in the kit, to secure it to the module it is resting on. Fingers crossed no rattles.

I installed mr 12 volt in mine too. Ordered this microphone https://enfigcarstereo.com/ENFIG_MIC_POR1.html from enfig, which snaps into the steering column factory location. It's pricey for what it is, but works very well. Calls and bluetooth both work great

hi I just joined rennlist because of this thread. been having problems with my Mobridge bluetooth combo unit, which I haven't tried to
used since getting my '06 c4s about a year ago. so I took the pcm out and found a loose optic connector. so everything started to work...
iPod. iPhone connected via bt but no music coming through the speakers. I was thinking maybe a firmware upgrade...but I don't use pc's.

anyways I think I'm going to also try the la power or mr. 12 volts unit. sounds like everyones liking it for the most part. and the mobridge
has a beeping about every seconds...so that's annoying. anyways thanks for keeping this thread going for so long. its helped my decision and
I hope to learn so much more about modding my car from rennlist. stay safe out there.

Greetings,
Could someone please put on or link a video to the actual navigation of the Bluetooth streaming and hands-free via PCM 2.1. Just a basic video how a man does it via PCM screen/buttons.
I have a 957 with PCM 2.1 and currently using Dension GW500. However Bluetooth hands free is a separate add on unit, Bluetooth receiver connected to the analog aux-in is always introducing static if not powered via USB power bank... Nowhere near all in one plug and play device. I am thinking of switching it with Mr12v

I also have Mr 12Volt.
I mounted mine in the Frunk where the original CD Changer was. I ran all the wires thru the firewall grommet by the steering wheel. The microphone is mounted in the steering column. I could not be happier with the amount of work involved. Sound quality is excellent given the original limitations of the stock Bose system.
Pictures are shown on post #485 in this thread
Good luck

ok coo. ill check out the pics and info before I do my install. still a week or so away from it arriving so have plenty of time to think about it. I probably won't be hooking up the mic. I don't think ill be talking much while driving my 4s. so less to wire up on that side. other than that location wise for the unit....where would be the best location to avoid rpm noise or feedback...frunk, behind the pcm..away from the pcm?
