Despite the ad saying "No accidents or incidents, no touch up painting of any kind" upon inspection it had some evidence of very poor paintwork all over the place.

Agree. I wouldn't look for a high end car on Craigslist. It's only marginally less of a cesspool than Facebook marketplace.

The tip is going to hold down the value perhaps $4-5K. It's a white turbo S, very rare. I have one in 6 speed and I've only heard of one other. If the tip works for you, I'm sure you could get it for mid 60' and pending inspection, I would think it's worth every penny.

Meh, have bought lots of nice cars on CL. Just like any open marketplace, lots of good and bad. I'd say there's a lot more bad shady dealers out there than individuals for higher end cars.
