I just checked with my sales guy who has sold Porsches (at Porsche dealers) since 1982 (he's forgotten more about Porsches than I'll ever know) and he confirmed that dealers never put the stickers on the inside of the front hood. He said the cars came from the factory with two stickers, one affixed to the inside of the hood and one other non-affixed sticker. The non-affixed sticker was placed in the owner's manual by the dealer.

He also said that PAG was required to affix the hood sticker at the factory because of U.S. import laws/customs clearance.

I think there is a chance that the hood sticker is just faded or wasn't printed darkly enough and that the option codes are in fact on the sticker.

Just consider your car "sticker modified."

I don't know, mine has obviously gotten wet over the years and I have about 55k more miles on it than this one, but mine is pretty legible.

I say go without a sticker. It's something to add to your "mod" list; "sticker delete."

I'd feel awfully bad about giving up free horsepower though...

Then think about the weight savings.

This will be the next obligatory Bring a Trailer question, right up there with whether the RMS bearing was replaced (on a Mezger). Who's gonna be the first to purposely ask about the 2nd sticker in the next TT auction to see the reaction (and confirm that the numbers match)?

Thumbs up another beauty

How about this beauty https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=305017249 it looks just as mint as the 571 mile car, no x50 as far as i can tell. The comments from Cargurus made me laugh, usually they say if its a good deal, great deal etc., instead they just say
UNCERTAINThe price of this vehicle seems too high. It may have custom equipment or be mislabeled.
