Getting a PPI from a Porsche dealer on a 17 yr old car, isn't the best option! Better to go to a independent Porsche shop, as they are working on older models much more frequently, and have better knowledge. When I bought mine from a local P dealer 5yrs ago, the service manager was clueless about leaking coolant fittings, or that race tracks required our cars to have pinned/welded fittings or use water wetter. He wouldn't even change the brake fluid that may have been in the car since new..

I wouldn’t make a general statement about all Porsche dealers based on experience with one. There are hundreds in the country. Here the dealer made a conscious decision that servicing older Porsches was going to be part of their business model. They have a couple mechanics dedicated to older models. They even work on the air cooled cars. You need to talk with the mechanics then decide,

It's got the Performance Plus Package, which includes PCCB's and X50. Overall, a VERY nicely equipped car that seems to be well priced, if the maintenance and vehicle history checks out
And I thought mine was high at $159,000. That is one of the highest ones I have seen.

I had a tube poped out on the thermostat housing. Went to the dealership here in Montreal and while I was waiting for parts decided to talk to the service manager. I simply ask him, what do you do in case of this "massive coolant loss" on 996 turbo? His answer was, "This is an urban legend from the internet" and he walk away.....

Stout is about right. The market is pretty wild right now. This car was low miles and a desired color but there was something about the car and it story that didn’t sit right with me. Due diligence is a must in a market like this, as everyone is going to want top dollar regardless of the operating condition of the car.

Looking at the other MY2001s that have sold on BaT this sale price seems spot on or maybe a couple of thousand short. It is the second highest price paid for any 2001. Only this super low mileage example in very desirable yellow went for more. I also think having the auction end on a holiday might've been a mistake.

As a potential bidder, it was the discrepancies in what was exactly done to the car. The listing said one thing and the provided documents said another. If I had the time to have car inspected maybe i would have felt otherwise.

The market is pretty crazy right now on all cars, 996tts were simply past due and cheap too long in my opinion. My first 996tt in 2016 was an aerokit x50 with 45k miles I paid 42k for. That car is 65+ right now same mileage maybe more. Most of it I think is justified the rest is the market.

I just sold a gen 1 raptor with 100k miles to a dealer for 8k more than I bought it for a year ago. (40k sold for)

I got an offer on my 348 yesterday that has me really contemplating moving it.

I will not sell the turbo cus I cant justify paying 60k+ to get back in.
