$2k at a minimum to remove a proven factory applied protectant - wow. Would be great to see a follow up from someone who had it all removed and what their car looked like a few years later. I can think of a lot of things I would rather spend $2k on instead.

Every Audi and VW product from the early 2000s used the same materials for the engine, undercarriage, suspension components, hardware, etc. and they all look just fine 20 years later even though they never got Cosmoline applied.

Back to the dealer that has the teal and the green cars, they also have this crazy 201 miles one. Does anyone know who those people are? They have the most stunning inventory. They have a NY phone number but no address and on google they show up as "florida". How do they find those cars, it's crazy.

we remove the coating that is covered in dirt and reapply a new clean one. Like I said before this service isn’t for everyone and every car but it does work if u want your car as clean as possible. Thanks

I'd love to know the provenance of this car.

If I am remembering things correctly several years ago these folks had a small showroom in an old cab garage on W 21st in Manhattan. I was there once looking at a car for a client. They seemed legitimate. That area has been redeveloped over the years so maybe they were priced out by the rent and bugged out to Florida?

Interesting. That 21st street address still shows up on google. I used to live in Chelsea but I never noticed that place. The only thing more incongruous than a small little known dealer with half a dozen top quality 996TTs in inventory, is said dealer being based in Manhattan, where cars wish they were dead.

They (he) indeed are in Miami, he is a flipper of the highest echelon. He scours his resources and finds these and he knows his prices/values. I briefly negotiated with him on a gated F360 Modena fully sorted very low mile pristine example and he would not budge off his high number as he knew eventually he would get it. Our conversation was short when that was realized. He got his number from someone.

Here, but I suggest you go to the inventory home page and take a look at all the cars, amazing stuff.

It's not that Porsche abandoned provenance. Porsche was lead and/or pushed into water cooled by the environmental laws. It was a necessary move for survival just as the EV movement is going to be in the future.

The 959 was water cooled back in 1985 and the doors still went thunk. Yet by 2005 the 911 was lock stock & barrel full of plastichrome do-dads and Chinese leather. Today’s 992 interior everything smells like Xylene and nothing at all like leather

FWIW my 996’s still smell like a Connolly leather factory, so there’s that

1998 was the last thunk

2004 was the final whiff

It only took one 911 generation for Ferry Porsche to die, and be erased

You are being a bit dramatic? The 992 is a fantastic 911, drive one sometime.

And the 959 only had water cooled heads.
