The Prestige Thread - Finest 996TT Market Finds

Yikes is that what they're asking? I didn't want to call and waste their time. In my experience "call for price" typically just means overpriced or "we prefer to size you up to see how much we can get out of you."
As I said above the Atlas Turbo S on BaT already at 76k with just over an hour and a half left. No 6 was ever going to be at the start of that sale price.

This car has already set a record for a 996TT on BaT and the auction isn't over yet.

Okay yikes I thought maybe low 80s it could get to but this exceeded every expectation. Now all the weirdo dealers with 9k mile 996TT asking 92k and sitting on them are probably feeling pretty justified all of a sudden. I wonder if that Signal Green TTS is still out there somewhere. Many seemed to laugh at the price when it was for sale, myself included.

Like all of you who commented already, I expected that 2005 Turbo S to go for a healthy premium, but not THAT MUCH of a healthy premium. That was nearly a 6 figure car when you figure in all fees. Wow!

$100K for *any* 996 Turbo (or Turbo S, if you insist on differentiating them) is a *crazy* 2020 price... Especially one that doesn't really have anything that special going on (like a great PTS color, or special wishes interior, or some provenance of being owned by someone bumping the value, etc).
But I also think in another five years the spectacular-ness of the 996 Turbo will overcome the silly headlight group-think and nice 996 Turbos will become more desirable than 997.1 Turbos.

It may already be happening...

993Turbo (last air cooled), 996Turbo (first water cooled). I think it's a given that the 996 will be THE next Porsche to climb through the roof. It's analog just enough for us old timers, has frigid AC and looks that kill, plus it handles excellent.
