Never knew these came with those seats - would rather they have perlon buckets

It is interesting that there is an option for a 'cast brake', not PCCBs.

That car is the pinnacle of U.S. 911’s IMO. There’s nothing else. 997 GT3’s with sunroofs. 991/2 GT’s with auto trannies and nagging nannies. Nothing else like this one before or since. Maybe the 997.1 GT3RS comes close, but not as raw. Just my opinion

Those seats are not OEM. The Perlon one piece GT3 buckets came with the Clubsport Package. PCCB "yellow" calipers were not available till 2002, the 01 GT2/3 had steel rotors and red calipers. The Clubsport OEM "red" fire extinguisher was mounted just ahead of the front passenger seat, not in the rear. The Clubsport Package also came with the front roll bar section which was provided with the car but not installed. The OEM GT2 rear brake ducts are missing and the front brake ducts are from the TT not GT2. Lots of small discrepancies but easily correctable. The biggest drawback is the lack of the perlon OEM seats (which I believe are NLA) and the front Clubsport cage section (which is definitely NLA but in my parts stash).

Oh my! That is what I would get mine wrapped in if I were to ever do one, I am in love! Did not know Porsche had one that color, like the Kawasaki Ninja of the late 80/early 90s. Not for all I know, but that's my cake. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, I recall the PO of my car waiting until 2003 to order it so he could get PCCBs. I also recall being in London in 2002 and seeing a triple black GT2 on the showroom floor with PCCBs.

That was the day I fell in love with the GT2.

Pretty sure that is Signal green vs. Viper green. Still very cool IMO.

Signal is too pastel: https://www.rennbow.org/porsche-colors/SignalGreen

Viper is saturated enough to be a match for the photos online, and besides the seller lists it as Viper: https://www.rennbow.org/porsche-colo...ld(Viper)Green

Looking at that 996 GT2 Club Sport. I owned a regular 996 GT2 when they first came out, and then modified it into a track car. Like that Club Sport (roll bar, stripped down for weight, suspension mods) but with a LOT more HP and torque with bigger turbochargers, etc. etc. Amazing car for sure, but in my humble opinion, even that Club Sport bone stock is not a car that makes much sense off the track. I guess it looks cool and if someone wants bragging rights or a collector piece in a rare model, more power to you.

I'm not a great driver at all, but have spent some time on the track in various 911's including that GT2. As a reference point, I spent my day job for many years flying pointy-nosed supersonic aircraft for the Navy, about half of the time off a boat moving around in ocean. So while I'm not an accomplished driver, I have a good working knowledge of both risk and what it means to push a machine to the edge of its performance envelope and beyond that. To me that GT2 is the modern amped up version of a 930 I once owned. They called it the "widowmaker" for a reason. Rear wheel drive and rear engine, without traction control nannies, is not something to F around with on the street.
